    Default Bluff Pull Failure Consequences

"Bluff Pull" is becoming a fairly common tactic. Character sneaks within range of multiple influencable bad guys, targets one guy, hits bluff button and only that targeted bad guy moves toward the group. Mobs are easily picked off one by one with little player skill involved. It makes no sense, but instead of eliminating it, can we simply have it balanced?

On a failed "Bluff Pull", mob calls all his nearby buddies and they attack. Should act as if the bluffer hit them with a missile weapon.

My experience at higher lvls is that it takes a a lot of Bluff skill to get it to work. Although gear can help out.

I believe monsters get harder to bluff with each attempt, but I cannot confirm that.

It took me a long time to realise Bluff worked in this way. I have other ways to single pull, or pull only a few at a time. (beraking things, walking invisible near them, using terrain to lmit how many see me at once, using the "penalty" of the Chattering Ring.)

But all take time, and few groups outside of your specialty realm will make any attempt what-so-ever to pull...or do anything other then charge into a room.

I like this use of Bluff! I do not want them to take away yet another way to use stealth effectively.

The SA use of Bluff is extremelly weak
Sor have Bluff as a class skill, and have no reason to take it for SA damage. At least this way it has a purpose for non-rogues.

IMO, if they have not done this already. (but I think they have) continue to make higher CR monsters harder to Bluff. And make repeated attempts have ever-increasing penalties. That should be enough I think.

Watching multiple Assassins bluff-pull-assassinate in the Vale is amusing.

I wonder what constitutes a failure? I'd be ok with a "trap blown" mechanism though where a simple failure is nothing, but a bad failure is what you describe. That'd be nifty.

The normal use of the skill is near useless, so learning about this makes it something to consider.

However, I agree that no negative consequences is bad for this type of skill so I agree with Voodoo that the balancing should be that the mob tells his buddies about the bluffer.

I think it's balanced with regards to time spent.. and the difficulty in using in pugs. That being said... failed bluff should at a minimum, bring you out of hiding.
