    Default No Back-stab on paralyzed?

I recently acquired paralyzing weapons. To my surprise it appears as I get no back-stabs against a paralyzed enemy. Is it a bug, intentional or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks, Rusalochka

that's intentional, assuming you mean a paralyzing weapon as opposed to, say, hold monster spells.

note, however, that if you don't have aggro when you first start attacking, often it will take a while before you get aggro... and paralyzing weapons sometimes seem to maintain the duration of that, afaict (that is, if a mob is not aggroed on you when you paralyze it, it often seems to stay aggroed on the other person until it becomes unparalyzed)

even if a mob is paralyzed, they can still have aggro on you, and THAT is the determining factor of how rogues get sneak attack damage. Turbine determined way back that paralyzed = auto sneak attack or crits was too powerful.

held mosters are a different matter

What you can do however is use a Para weapon in one hand, and Deception in the other. Eventually the Deception will trigger and you get your sneaks, while having the enemy frozen in place.

Thanks to all. Interesting idea with Deception.

My friends love to run with vorpal deception scimitars. Scimitars because of the look, not for the crit range.

A deception weapon can be handy to have in case you are soloing a boss. The effect that makes them turn around for a couple seconds also applies to undead/elementals/constructs/Red named bosses, so even if they can't be sneak attacked it can provide an opportunity for you to drink some pots.

Stunning weapons also sometimes trigger a similar effect on 100% fort targets - while it doesn't grant autocrit like it would on another type of monster, it keeps them still for a good 3-5 seconds and is way less buggy than blinding enemies currently.

    Working As Intended

At some point prior to 2 years ago Paralyzers were changed to a stun effect as opposed to an actual held or paralyzed effect. So no auto-crits.

However, Hint#171 has never been updated to reflect this event though I had submitted bug reports (first being 2 years ago when I first got my paralyzer and was ..ohh awsome now I can autocrit on....hey this is not working.....)

Subsequent bug reports to have DDO update the Hint screen text to reflect the change have since been ignored.
....Makes me wonder if the Bug report system is a straight to garbage bin mail slot.....
