Have any seen any information of when next update comming out? Next real update with prestiges, spells and more content. Hasnt it gone over 2 months and still no info at all, except that "only" sorc prestiges will be added? Or have i missed something announced on other websites?

Its probably in March , after PAx. Its also possibly the reason they are withholding so mich info ,-they want stuff to show off for PAX.

When exactly is PAX? I would have hoped that there would be something for the annaversery, but they have done this before where no new content was put in for an annaversery I guess. It ended up ending the Market tent, so we still have that to talk about it would seem. Anyone want to guess what might go boom this time? And no guessing the hamsters or the servers they power....

Smaller version of E3, where turbine go to show off there new stuff and give away free junk, like copies of lotro and turbine points.

It's likely they will delay U9 just to show it off over there.

Aniverssary event is the kobold thing we already played.. not much goes boom, cept some crystals if you place torchs in them.

Tho i heard whispers of U9 having a seperate event too... Which i think is dumb, dont need events every update.

From my point of view events fun and ok as small ones not using too much development resources. Right now Turbine seems to have a plan that the events are very important and focus heavy on em.

For me a birthday cake with a djinni had been perfect or some other smaller event and the development resources being on doing content playable all time. (quests, raids, grafic, prestiges etc etc)

Events are for me when some story shall be told, like blowing up a marketplace or so.

I had been way more happy with 3 new lvl 16-20 quests 1 raid and a pre instead of this event i have to say.

But i may be wrong maybe those events are much easier to do than normal updates so this aint taking so much resources as i think?

(So i dont want events delaying updates with 2 months+ thats what i am trying to tell, its too much)

Thinking about it, I believe they may be focusing on events so that they can have one going every few months. LOTRO does something similar with the Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer festivals. I don't believe these events are necessarily easier to do than putting together one or two quests, but they are probably easier than an entire mod. The main complication with this event would be balancing the items and difficulty, as well as sorting out any bugs that may crop up.

Anyway, Update 9 should be right around the corner after this. I'm guessing it will be out sometime in March.

Indeed. Turbine has noticed that people like the festival events but don’t like it when they overuse them (Winter Festival, Winter Festival Returns, Winter Festival Forever, Winter Festival and Festivus, Mabar Begins, The Endless Night, The Endless Night Rises, etc.)

It also looks like they’re addessing some of the concerns about the Festival of the Traveller. (Namely that there aren’t any ways of getting the tokens/paper-thingie that don’t involve the DDOStore.)
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.
