No worries. I was actually planning on joining you this week, but I'll come next week instead.
I've been saying that for two or three weeks now.

I'd be interested in learning Twilight Forge--I actually ended up LEADING green side before in a not-ready PUG, and managed all right with that (I did a forum search and found a post explaining how to do it, but that's not good for learning when you're running it on the fly), but could still use more work to actually learn the puzzle, and have still never even been red-side.

    I hate time zones , i thought 9pm on a gmt -6 would be 3pm at gmt , it confuses me .

Heres a list of stuff Id need help on if its available

The Twilight Forge is also a mystery to be . I couldnt even find one of the flagging quests as that whole place confuses me .

The Abbott , never done that one and never see groups up for it either .

VoD , never done this one either .

Von 5 id like to have a better idea of what I am doing other than , go there and press that

Others that id like to learn but not high on list

    The Crucible Maze
    The Pit .
Id also be intrested in knowing any tactics that help with the Monastry of the scorpion puzzle , I can do all the shroud ones but the Monastry one dont seem to follow any pattern I can see and often revert to a solver .

Also big thank you for OP for this thread and sentiment

Is that a request for the 6th spot next Tuesday, or just a comment.
If it's a request for the spot, I need your toon's name [and class]

The Abbott , never done that one and never see groups up for it either . Abbot is one of the runs that I would pass off to one more knowledgeable than myself.

VoD , never done this one either . VoD is simple and extremely straight forward. I really don't think a special training run is needed. Just join a pug and tell them it's your first time. If they have a problem taking a newbie on a VoD they're just a jerk. Mechanically speaking, it is horribly horribly simple.

The Crucible Maze ddowiki.com is your friend. I might have a toon collecting dust in that level range, and if I do I'd be more then happy to do this. One of my favorite quests.
The Pit . Another one of my favorite quests, and as soon as I have a toon at that level again I'll open this up for it, unless someone beats me to it.
Id also be intrested in knowing any tactics that help with the Monastry of the scorpion puzzle , I can do all the shroud ones but the Monastry one dont seem to follow any pattern I can see and often revert to a solver .
That puzzle at the end works exactly like a Shroud puzzle, except the few random missing tiles screws it all up and makes it much harder than a Shroud puzzle. But mechanically it works exactly the same way.

    in red
The Crucible and the Pit are great XP, which is why I like to run them at level. We don't have to do them at level mind you, but they're much more fun that way.

Don't worry about mucking up the thread. That's what it's for. If we get a request for something that you're willing to guide feel free to say so and start a sign-up.

Is 9pm central the normal time you tend to log on ? I may need to leave it a few weeks until I am on late shifts at work again so I can stay up til 5 in the morning playing computer games

Forgot my name, sorry. Will run it on Carinn, a cleric. If you're looking for more at-level, let me know and I'll bring someone else.

    less buffing, more nerfing!!!
to make it easier for those of you that wants to avoid me in game, all my characters are in "Bladesworn Mercenaries"

Sometimes I log in at 3pm, other times I log in at 4am. My work schedule is really all over the place depending on when I decide it's most important for me to be there, which changes as the situation changes.
The only times I'm almost guaranteed to not be on is right about now.

Carinn is in for that 6th spot.
Raids I'm not worried about at level. Flagged is good enough. There are few raids that ever get run at level for xp anyway, so why should a training run be harder than the rest of the runs you'll be doing? Doesn't make sense. If you want to try them at level after you know them, knock yourself out.

Quests I'd like to try to get in at level however, as you'll be running them at level.

Truthfully though, the biggest problem I've had with Tomb of the Tormented is having more than one maze solver. Inevitably, someone gets impatient or doesn't listen to directions and decides he can help with the mazes, thereby messing it up and forcing a do-over. If you want to learn how to do the mazes, it's best go in with someone who has done them a few times before and follow along. You don't have to memorize the mazes, you just have to learn the few tricks to timing the rats so that they avoid traps and how to flip switches to get where you want to go.

Pro Tip: The carcass eaters and wolves can't see rats that are behind them. Use that to your advantage.
Chain Lightning and Blade Barrier used to work on the mobs in the maze but that is no longer true. Bard songs should still work, except for the Ironskin Chant. The Wild Empathy feat still works wonders as well as a charmed carcass eater is unable to hit back. Giving your rat enough time to beat it.

Some other tip: Maze #3 requires the rat to move behind the trap in some timings:

    Code:
    --------------------------+
    S5 < < < > > > > |
    --+ +-----------------+ |
      | | |S4|
      | +--+ +--------+ +--+
      | S3| | < < > |
      | +--+ | +--+ |
      | | | | | |
      | +-----+ | | |
      | < < < > > | | |
      +---+ +----+ |S1|
          |S2| | |
          +--+ | |
      ---------------+ +
This is the part of Maze #3 with the moving trap being indicated as < and >. S1-S4 are the save spots, where S4 is the platform and S5 is the goal.

From S1 to S2 the rat has to move behind the trap as it is leaving.
From S2 to S3 the rat has to move behind the trap as it is going for S4, otherwise the trap comes around from S1 and kills the rat before it reaches S3.
From S3 to S4 the rat has to move after the trap once it goes towards S2.
From S4 to S5 the rat has to move after the trap once it goes towards S3.

I definately will keep up with this tread.

I've only been playing DDO for a short time (less than a year) and I enjoy it very much. But I often find myself in groups that want to zerg right through. There are many, many quests that I really have no clue how to do because I've been lead through without the least bit of explanation. Sometimes it can get very frustrating.
    Still here.... Deal with it.

I don't have an attitude problem, you just can't stand that I'm adorable.

Zerging is all well and good if you know what's going on. If you don't, the easier quests can be figured out in time. The more difficult quests are downright impossible to figure out in groups like that. That's why I started this.

A nameless well known and well respected player gave me the idea for this many months ago. He had an LFM up for VoN, so I joined. He then stated that he was learning it as he went, as the leader. He'd been playing for years.... literally years.... and never learned how to do VoN because he never needed to. Someone else always did all the work.
That's when I had the idea for this thread, but I never did anything about it until last night.
