Bold Trinket - finally a DPS alternative to Litany of the Dead

If you're like me and have multiple 20th Abbot completions without a Litany of the Dead to show for it, you will be thrilled to know there's finally a competitive alternative coming in U8P1. Assuming the math is correct...

Bold Trinket (Tier 2): Exceptional Seeker +2 (Stacks), Damage bonus +1

Frenzied Barbarian III with Litany of the Dead:

Great Axe dice roll: 2-18 = +1 damage, 19-20 (6x crit) = +6 damage == +1.52 avg damage per hit
Epic Sword of Shadows dice roll: 2-14 = +1 damage, 15-18 (4x crit) = +4 damage, 19-20 (6x crit) = +6 damage == +2.157 avg damage per hit

If +1 STR (profane) would put you at an even STR, then double the above damage per hit.

Frenzied Barbarian III with Bold Trinket:

Great Axe dice roll: 2-18 = +1 damage, 19-20 (6x crit) = +18 damage == +1.842 avg damage per hit
Epic Sword of Shadows dice roll: 2-14 = +1 damage, 15-18 (4x crit) = +12 damage, 19-20 (6x crit) = +18 damage == +5.105 avg damage per hit.

So the Bold Trinket outpaces Litany for the eSoS, even if the Litany provided an even STR score.

Bold Trinket (Tier 3): Exceptional Seeker +2 (Stacks), Damage bonus +1, Shocking Blow

Shocking Blow is an average of 0.967 damage per hit (not modified by crit multipliers). This assumes your target only fails the DC 22 Reflex on a roll of 1 (ie, a raid boss) and is not immune to electrical damage (ie, not Lailat or Abbot).

I might get that item if the live version stays the same. Things change from beta, so I never seriously consider them until they come out.

I probably would take it over Litany. There's no real reason not to.

Shocking Blow (if it's the same as Charged Gauntlets) adds from 20-30 electric damage on a roll of 20. I've been experimenting with this item recently. Monsters are almost never going to fail the save in high level quests and epics. It's pretty worthless DPS, as in it adds virtually nothing.

With new and better items comming out all the time, it's getting continously harder to justify wearing Red Scale + Bloodstone on a non-WF. I'm thinking of dumping both of these altogether and sticking with Marilith + Litany/Trinket.

my charged seem to give between 50 and 60 on vorps. So something between 2 and 3 dmg/swing. uber end game gear? no not really , but it is a level 5 item.

slapped them on my recent pally at level5 and still can't find a reason to take them off at 13.

This stuff is such wonderfully over-powered goodness that'll cut down a hell of a lot on my grinding time. Thinking this for my evasion-fighter . . .

This can get you full Seeker 8 (+1 more point of damage per swing), Vulkorum Fighting Leathers are a bit of a joke but no loss of toughness from not having Minos, and when I equip my HP item I only lose 2 points of sneak attack. The +4 to-hit mean no loss over wearing the Claw set over epic-spectrals.

If you listen closely . . . you can hear the prices of certain scrolls dropping as this event approaches

I don't see how I can include that trinket on my barb... trade-offs are too big for me. I don't have an epic marilith chain. It boils down for me to giving up either +3 str from epic chrono set or give up the red dragonscale robe (and trade it in for non-epic marilith chain).

Now that I've got my epic marilith chain I will be grinding the hell out of the event for that trinket. I am very very excited about this.
