    Default issues with launcing the launcher

    ok so every time i try to start the launcher for DDO i get an issue no matter which way ive done it ive skimmed through some forums and tried a few things but nothing

    mainly it seems to be an issue with windows security but ive tryed to run the game with both fire wall and antivirus programs uninstalled and completly removed from the computer

    also when i go thru and use the turbineinvoker it says "C:\Program Files (x86)\TurbineLauncher.exe"
    Unknown error (0xffffffffe)
    and when i use the normal launcher inside the files location it says
    System.ComponentModel.Win32Exceptions: Unkown error (0xffffffffe)
    at System Diagnostics.Proccess.StartWithShellExecuteEx(Proce ssStartInfo
    startinfo)
    at System.Diagnostics.process.Start()
    at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(ProcessStartInfo start info)
    at System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(String fileName String arguments)
    at com.turbine.launcher.Launcher.main()

    im running a windows 7 not sure about the rest been a long time but any ideas would help ive tried reinstalling/repairing multiple times each with no luck so any advice would be appreciated.

    Ty for any advice or fixes u can/may provide and i will check back in the morning

    Please open the knowledgebase portal:

    Which will then subsequently allow you to view this article:

    it's a slightly different code however, so if none of those steps help I would re-install .net, which is required by DDO:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...displaylang=en

    followed by:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/e...DisplayLang=en

    didnt help and i even went through and added all the required files to launch DDO to my list of exceptions for windows firewall and antivirus programs

    could it possibly be an issue with just downloading a bad launcher from the site?

    Try temporarily disabling UAC per the steps here for Windows Vista or alternately here for Windows 7.

    Note: if you already have it disabled, then as a reverse of that step, enable it because this could be that the game is getting incorrect permissions elevation.

    Have you tried using system restore to take your system back to near the time DDO was last working for you?

    Is your Win7 install relatively recent? If yes, could you post a DxDiag?

    Assuming you used the multi-part download before, try this one, which comes
    down in one big chunk:
