    These threads kill me...

    Both are incredibly good at cc'ing end game atm.

    I have played a 20 WF archmage and a 20 Human Sorcerer at cap and in epics, I do like the sorcerer better.

    I have CC'd every epic quest but 2 on my sorcerer (von5 and spies in the house) on a very regular basis, with dc 41 mass holds and 37-39 on most everything else I do not struggle to land my CC (Except perhaps the epic reavers and efreetis in adq1, but thats what irresitable dance is for amirite?). I also nuke very frequently in epics, and do a marvelous job of it. It's really all about the abbot clickies, with the amount of shrines in epics it makes me lol to see people saying you can't nuke.

    Anyways, they are both incredibly viable in any endgame situation. To say sorcerers are gimp is really really ignorant however, they just require more gear to improve their dcs.

    Yugo pots can definitely be dispelled by beholders
    Sicks and Tymn on Orien.

    i don't use guild ship buffs or house D pots. evidently you failed to read my post.

    i also have this crazy strategy wherein i actually have more than one yugoloth potion. if i die or the buff runs out, i drink another one.

    sure, a wizard will have a better DC than me (typically to the tune of +3 assuming similar gear). in general, it doesn't matter though. i hold just about everything, and so will the wizard with +3 DC. if we're both consistently landing our CC spells, then we're in the same boat as far as effective DC. just i have more spell points to do the main things (ie i get more mass hold, which imo is better than more hypnotism even though more hypnotism is certainly not a bad thing), and shorter cooldowns to recast those main things if it's needed, and i don't need quicken to get fast casting which saves me even more on each spell. and i have the APs to invest in cheaper metamagics too, come to think of it.

    it would be nice to have a couple of wizard past lifes under my belt, i can't deny that. but i don't at all wish that my sorcerer was a wizard.
