    Default Ransack bugged

It has been well over a week since I hit my first chest in The Shroud, at least 3 hours overtime. The way I understand it from the wiki is, the timer starts the second I hit my first chest, and regardless of whether or not I loot it just 9 times or 999 times in the week period it should reset after the week is reached..
Is it a bug or have I misunderstood the explanation of Ransack? I am a new player and I didnt even know I was ransacked I just though my loot luck was poor.
Uzz - 20 Barbarian. And thats it... for now.

I think you are bugged. Ive experienced this as well, got ransack warning while trying to get a shard of power. Once i got that warning i finished the shroud run and ran it 3 days later. Also got warning then(as expected) and finished, ran again 3 days later, got warning(and expected it).. and so on.

9 runs later(almost a good clean month AFTER I got that first 'you have looted this chest often' message) i was still getting that warning in part 1, and did for the next few runs.

It eventually clears up, but this is indeed a bug.

the way it works is either(not sure) you 'reset' your loot after 1 week from the first time u opened a chest(so if u opened chest on a Tuesday for the first time, next Tuesday the timer resets, even if you looted that chest 9+ times during that week)

Or: It resets on Sundays.(So if on sat u looted chest 12 times and completely ransack it, on Monday your timer will have reset.

I am honestly not 100% sure which is which, but either way u look at it, one week after the 'first' time u loot the chest, it should have reset.

something like that. for example i ran shroud and i get ransack msg. cool. wait a few days, not a week for sure, ran shroud again, the same chest gives ransack msg. again.

i mean it was already ransacked 2 days ago. how come i get some crappy loot from ransacked chest and ransacking it again in two days?

i don't believe ddowiki or anything. if you open a ransacked chest without waiting a week, you will ransack it again i can even claim. so 7 more days to wait and if a day is magic day like darkwolf said, you better wait a few days more than that.

also, anyone ever tested stuff after maintenances? maybe it reset stuff too?

"well over a week" is interesting... You might want to be more specific. For example, if your runs went like:

    day 1 - 1 run
    day 5 - 1 run
    day 6 - 2 runs
    day 8 - 9 runs

and today is day 10, the chest should be ransacked still today because it reset on day 7 and you sacked it again on day 8, meaning it won't be clear again until day 15.

BTW, when you are ransacked a message appears on the top of your screen when you open the chest, you might want to read those pop ups.

No. And not believing DDO wiki without evidence its wrong is usually a mistake. Occassionally DDO changes something and the wiki is behind, but its generally the best source out there.

that's enough to not believe. i also don't believe character planner, didn't check latest version if there's a new version but like a month before it was still saying tempest 1 is %10 speed. tempest 3 is one more swing in your attack sequence. and those enhancements changed half a year ago or so i heard.

in any case, if you ransack a chest you are supposed to get nothing 2 days later. not to ransack it "again", probably resetting recover time, getting some crappy loot.

so this thread is really important and i would love to hear an official explanation how ransack stuff "really" works.
