Default Tempest Spine Training Run 11pm EST tonight 2/10/11

Tempest Spine Training Run tonight 2/10/11 at about 11pm EST (give or take 5 min).

after reading this thread http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=300923 I decided to start a Tempest spine training run.

So this evening Feb 10th 2011 at about 11pm I will put up an LFM with my level 10 Paladin Alomera for Tempest Spine normal run.

This will be a no Zerging run , a full on explain everything, stop and smell all of the flowers run. Keeping everyone together from the get go.

Other than that I do not want anyone that knows what is going on. Spread the word to your new guildies or friends that are new. I'll take any build that comes along battle cleric, 3 rogue/4 fighter/3 sorc you name it they are in if they are willing to learn.
    ----------------

first thing we are going to do is have someone jump in the lava and die to get the 10% bonus out of the way to start. Then we will buff and work our way over to the entrance nice and easy like, not leaving anyone behind.

    Wink

Can the people who know what is going on pretend to be clueless, or is it an absolute, unabashed "NO"?

prefer total newbies but If you know what is going on and can stand the slow pace I could probably use 1 other that knows the way to help grab stragglers.

I predict many deaths and quite a long run.

You may not get past fire and ice. Good luck and Kudos to you for trying to make the Overall DDO epxerience just a little bit better.

If you do fake it to get in, no grease on the ledge please. (think I;m going to have to bring a fire clickie of some sort to stop that.

but I will be taking bets on who rushes in and steps on the plate all alone or with only 2 other in the room.

As well as who dies at the fire trap lever.

Okay, I totally didn't see this part when I first read your post... LMAO!!! This is completely awesome and wonderful. (If you find total newbs like myself, you can mention the fact that auto-run can be completely disabled or reassigned to another key... Just sayin')

I may make it. I've only run through it a handful of times ever and I never remember any of it!

Very cool. Now that the goddess has apparently retired, nice to see someone willing to teach others. Best of luck.

Thanks for running this! You did a great job. It seemed to run very smoothly. Frick and Frack were annoying, I'm guessing they pop up in raids anyway and should be considered a factor in any training exercise.

I didn't remove feather fall for the last fight and was able to navigate back to the platform just fine after being blown off.

yeah I suspect frick and frack have run it before many times and I don't think everyone else was honest about their experience either.

A few seemed to know the way entirely too well. Doing Fire and Ice on the first try and then that small group jumped in and made the swim to the first Golem before we had water breathing straightened out for everyone and I had to call them back afterwards was a big hint.

We did have a few that were new so that was so I'll take it as a success.
    =============

All that said I'd love to figure out someway to vet the candidates before next time but it is tough to prove someone saying they don't know it , when they know it like the back of their hand.

As for the featherfall for the end fight I have heard both on and off and I have concluded that it doesn't make much of any difference one way or the other having done both many , many times.

Despite the frustration from Frick and Frack, the raid went pretty well. Sorry for being AFK just before the Inevitable; sometimes I'm just too nice to hang up on a telemarketer.

Looking forward to more of your future runs.

I do know that I'm definitely going to need more practice hitting the right F7-F12 key. I set my nostromo n50 to macro F1-F6 + cure light, F1-F6 + cure mod, F1+radiant burst and that seems to work pretty well in a normal group, maybe I can sort something out for a raid-specific loadout. (though only 10 keys + dpad to work with)

Oh and the swimming...yeah, I tend to get turned around, thanks for leading me back.

What I have learned from this experience and my recent pugging as a casting cleric is that if I really have to step back and heal a lot then we're not doing well, anyway. In this raid I was either spot healing in specific fights, bursting in the group or rezzing after a 1-2 shot.

The trick in the swim is to follow the right wall. Make sure to look up (or down after you re-enter the water after looting the in-water chest) if you come to a dead end. If you remember that its gets easier to navigate the under water part.
