    Default Delera's ...

Reading through this thread and seeing the UA -TS post reminds me of running D back in the day when a now uber player didn't have anything to hit the ghostie skels with, so he was using the Silver Flame Club.

We used to save up all of our clubs from multiple XP runs and mail them to him until his mailbox was full.

Fastforward a couple of years with the advent of TR ...

    His mailbox is full again...

... while I do miss some of the "good old days", I've been impressed with many of the "new" players coming up.

Typically the really bad ones were/are so bad that they overshadow how many good/great "new" players are actually out there.

    First 25

    5 are about Drunken Shrouds
4 are about setting up a raid
7 are misc questions about the game
    1 is a trade offer
1 is a prop to newbies
1 is a prop to Aussies

6 are about how noobs suck.

24% of the threads you have started lately have been about how noobs suck.

I'm not debating how great he is in the game... My gut reaction when I see a thread of his is, "here's comes another thread about how noobs suck"... And it turns out my gut reaction was correct...

I'm not judging you... You sound like a great guy in-game... I'm just pointing out that on these boards, you come across with a different attitude than you probably intend.

Not to suck my own member but you will be hard pressed to find people like me who have never been in a guild and almost always pug instead of soloing or running with a guild for close to 5 years. They're out there but we're few and far apart.

FYI 5+ years for anyone on here would be a stretch. 5 years yes, 5 years + a few days yes, 5 years + a couple of months yes, but let's not make it sound like an eternity. And neither one of us has hit the 5 year mark.
FYI, I play on Thelanis only... Have we played together?

Also, I only joined a guild for the first time 6 months ago... I have done nothing but PUG in all my years here as well... However, I only have 7 capped characters (3 single-TRs, one double-TR), not 17, so you probably do have more PUGing experience than I...

But, believe me, I know PUGs... And they ain't that bad (at least, on my server)

Todays DDO is entirely different. When you join a group you have no clue what your walking into. It may be a bunch of tards, or it may be the leader is a tard and is going to make you prove yourself before you can join. Keep in mind it's a quest that you know you can solo, you just felt like running with some company instead of soloing it.

I remember when all I would do is put up an LFM and know it was going to be fun. I would never solo. Now I don't even bother with an LFM. If I don't see anybody I know online. I just grab a pocket whatever and go run it by myself. It's sad where things have gone.
How is that not a vet vs newb thread?

You all know him, so you take the post the right way, but any new player reading that is going to hear "noobs have ruined this game. It was more fun before the new players showed up"

Never had to carry him or his wife through a quest what he is stating is that the days when people pushed the groups to complete lvl 8 quests on hard in elite with groups of lvl 4-5 getting the bonus for doing the quest below lvl and learning how to play and mitigate damage and how to use tactics other then "I am awesome followed by roar splat". Please dont comment unless you actaully have a clue what your talking about. There is alot of people who never bother to learn how to play effectively now.

some vets turn newbies bad , zerging to all quests
the newbie try's to copy that style but doesn't have the skill or gear or knowlage to do so .

those old pugs do sound like fun but i don't know how it would go down if i tell a tr "he lets take things slow in this quest and make notes and stuff " he will be laughing at me the whole quest .

I am getting sick of the amount of threads about pugs beeing bad and always full of idiots this thread however is decent and remenisent of a better time thats and not just noob bashing but you need to forgive some people reacting strongly on it becous most of these threads arn't

personaly i pug all the time and it is hell sometimes but greath pugs still come along more often then not and i pug on orien

Wow, and people tell me I over analyze stuff. Saying something has changed does not mean that "newbs" were the ones that changed it. Things changed. It happens everywhere every day. It does not have to be a byproduct of a certain group.

However, you formed your opinion so I am not going to bother debating it with you.

Your best bet if you want to actually learn like that is to make your own LFM's. Don't be afraid to put what you plan on doing in the LFM. Don't be afraid to say you are new. It is easier to know going in than being surprised.

Yeah, it kinda does. Especially in this case. The only variable in the equation are new players in the pugs. It's a simple logic progression. I'm not saying it's what the OP meant to say but it is certainly implied.

Heh, I went to the next page of threads started by Disavowed and found some more gems...

Dude, it sounds like you're an awesome guy, but you really can't get upset at people assuming you're a noob-hater when you own threads like these....

"Noob stupid remark of the week"
    "Will they ever learn?"
    "Noobs are still clueless!"
"Holy cow! You gotta love the newbies. I see trouble ahead."

And then a bunch of threads that are variations of

    "Wow"
    "Debate this!"

which turn out to descriptions of some terrible PUG you were in...

I LIKE reading your threads... Train wreck PUG stories are FUN! But understand that you come off on the boards as someone who really doesn't like new players.

    Logic?

You use logic on the DDO forums?

    On a Khyber Server thread?

    SHAME ON YOU ELADUIN!!!

You know better than to actually post something that involves logic and reasoning on a Khyber thread on a Friday!

Does it really matter how he comes across the forums? He runs training runs of the basic raids for all new players often enough. Sorry you dont get to hear come "noobs" get a cuddle what fun is talking about that? Do you post every time you have a good run with a pug? Do i have to go dig through your posts to check and make sure your hugging them correctly? Alot of us have pugged alot myself including I enjoy meeting people but i also find myself soloing more and more. What can you do people are not trying to learn new ways to improve their own play style they charge in +2 longsword swinging and wonder what happens when the three hit combo of the ogres kills them in one step.

Just for clarification, and I might be wrong here but I think your intermingeling "noob" with "newb". Homonymes can be like that but my understanding is:

"newb" - A new player, greenhorn, not familiar with....
"noob" - Ostreporuous, arrogant, misinformed, ignorant.....
additionally, a "tard" to me is someone who is acting ******** about a situation or act...

I get what your saying T, but your argument thus far has been about "noobs" which I do not think Dis is either talking abotu nor would disagree on you about.

    just saying.
