i like long walks on the beach and a rum and coke if the mood strikes.

There are quite a few aussies on this server. and 10pm est is around the beginning of prime time so you won't have any trouble finding groups. Just be sure to let them know that you are new when you join.

    Welcome to khyber.

Hmm don't do much low level pugging nowadays, sucks that that is the case. Most likely though you joined a group that was going to zerg (which means running through the quest as fast as possible, expecting every1 to keep up and be slightly or totally self sufficient). This is not very newbie friendly as it doesn't increase your skill as a player during the learning curve, and new players will just spend the whole time running/dying. I am guilty of this, and don't let new players in for that reason.

My suggestion would be to join groups that say no zerging, or start your own lfm saying new to ddo. That way you get like-minded players or people just as clueless as you to learn with .

    Aww...there there.

There are lots of Aussie folks on Khyber. Just look out for the Stormreach Thieves' Guild - they're a primarily Aussie-guild. In your social panel, go to the Who tab (the 4th one) and just click "Search". A whole list of players will be online, click on the "Guild" section to sort them by guild and then scroll until you find someone from the Stormreach Thieves' Guild. If you play during Aussie primetime - e.g. evening and nights there should be quite a number of them online.

Good luck and welcome to the game!

+1 for SRTG, great bunch of guys and gals and generally someone on all times of the day. They're an open invite guild so just hunt down someone and ask if theres an officer on.

Crimson Eagles also have a decent contingent of Aussies.. just remember to stay away from bad uncle Felgor
Roldon - L16 Whirling tempest of gimp.. now TR3'd for extra super double gimp : Lauralis - L22 FvS: Roldocron - L20 ArchFail : Roldobot - L20 LotB FvS: Roldyn - L21 Rogbarian, i can has disable.. after i find trap with face... : Roldyne - L20 Bardouge, i can has disable... after someone else finds trap with face... Proud gimp of BeiberLu.. i mean Wanderlust

SRTG is a good bunch of people. If you are in a guild, you have more opportunities to learn more content by grouping with them.

On zerging, it can actually be highly educational to learn how quests can be done quickly. If you solo something and it takes you 25 minutes, it might be great and enjoyable. But then you group with someone who completes it in 2 minutes, you have learned some good tips too.

You had a bad group there, sorry to hear that. Good groups and players don't mind you saying you are new...they see it as being honest and up front and that is a big part of success in this game. Hope you have a good time!
