H.O Mellee Cleric/ Barbarian

I was thinking about a Half Orc level 4 Mellee Cleric + level 1 Barbarian at level 5.
Doing this just to unlock more weapons and rage.

STR 19 +4
DEX 10 +0
CON 14 +2
INT 6 -2
WIS 18 +4
CHA 6 -2

Is it ok to do this?

As long as you remember : cant cast/use radiant bursts while raged.

Offhand, I don't see a problem, but need more details on the rest of your build and what you want to be able to do.

This is my first time playing through the game. So far I spent 50 bucks to unlock certain things. I have no plan and I am not sure what to expect with this build.
I build most of my Toons by what ever is recommended. I don't know much about the game now and I have learned that I hate using the hotbar. So I will be using my cleric side primarily for healing and the barbarian side, because it is recommended to choose the barbarian mellee class for a Half- Orc.
I'm counting on using my left mouse button the majority of the time for close combat and I'd expect all combat to be close combat, because I'm to lazy to learn all the unneeded information about DDO. I'm playing the game for fun. I don't care enough about the game to waste my entire life on it.

Have you considered figher splash instead? You get an extra feat vs short rages.

if you are looking into the cleric/barbarian thingy you might wanna consider Warforged as there is more synergy with bladesworn and Jauggernaut theme. Aside that, as someone posted rage=no spell casting, but you do have dismiss rage as a clickie you can oput on your hotbar if it becoms necessary.

alternatively a 20 Paladin WF KOTC is nice - add bladsworn to that and still manage some nice heals

If you want a HO melee-focused battle cleric, have a look at EinarMal's HO battle cleric. If you want something even more melee-focused, look at the Radiant Berserker. As others said, one important thing to bear in mind with mixing barb & cleric: you can't do a lot of things while Raging, including cast spells or use wands or scrolls (you can still drink potions, though).
