Tuesday offers and international players

Can we get a greater lead time on Tuesday or 1 day sales for international players? I come on to find Half-Orc up fro 50% sale. It's now Wednesday and it will be long over for most workers/school players to be able to purchase this on 'Tuesday'.

I wish I had know about this on our actual "Tuesday" so I could have brought it last night on my Tuesday.

We need an out of game ability for players to purchase DDO Store items.

you can read the upcoming tuesday sales at least one or 2 days before they go live on the ddo site...

Yeah thanks for that, the thread on the Tuesday sales was created: 02-09-2011, 01:43 AM my time. I do not visit the main ddo.com site. I guess it's my mistake to think the forum is a viable source of on time information.

i believe the offer is available for the whole 24 hrs server time so we all have the same advance notice on new sales.
we can just call them wednesday sales, isn't it?

Yes the 'same' 24 hour period. But that period ends at 4PM local time.

I've been checking to see what is half off every Tuesday for months now. If you want to assume it is not on, that is your decision. One you apparently seem to regret.

I'll assume it is an ongoing event until the Tuesday it does not happen. 9 in a row is enough to make me think there will be another next Tuesday.

I have a mate who's more of a casual player than he'd like to be and is regularly missing some of the deals because he isn't able to check what they are when he can get online. An extra day of notice wouldn't kill anybody (probably).

Well i agree it should be at least the day before, because many people don't find the announcement until late in the 24 hrs period, specially if you only play at night.

And if you use a debit card you might have to go make a deposit, which isn't possible unless you knew of the sale in advance.

Thus won't hurt to give at least 12 more hrs. of notice, how much could turbine lose between taking the discount vs. having more sales?

How is it rubbish? The notice gets posted at the same time no matter where you live in the world. The sale is the same 24 hour period each week no matter where you live in the world. Where you live has nothing to do with it, time passes just as fast in every corner of the world.

I don't understand what you all need an extra days notice for though. You don't need any notice. If you cannot get online in that 24 hour period to check what is half off, then it stands to reason you cannot get online to take advantage of it. If someone is missing the deals because they choose to do other things for that entire 24 hour timespan, that is their own fault, or that of the slave drivers keeping them tied up for a whole day straight.

According to my local time (GMT+8), the offer expires tomorrow afternoon at 1pm...so working from Melbourne time, it would seem that the Turbine Tuesday offer starts 4pm on Wed local time and ends Thurs 4pm local time? I agree that the offers should be at least be done 12 hours ahead though (or the last Friday even), sometimes I miss out on Turbine Tuesday offers as well.

Timezones, you might want to look them up. 9am US eastern time = equals 1 am AUST DST. How is that considered notification at the same time? I'm sure being notified at 1am and then having it expire at 4pm your time would allow for you to access the game in time.

You might want to do your math on timezones again. Our region is in the future, not the past. US -5 GMT, AUS +11 GMT.

I would be happy if turbine would post the tuesdays sales the day before on the login section. that way anyone that logs in could clic the link before entering the game. Im sure this would help all players, regardless of time zone, take advantage of any upcoming sales. Not everyone logs on every day, and this could entice even casual players to pop in and catch a sale and maybe play an hour or two.

Again, timezone has nothing to do with it. Plenty of people in every timezone work odd hours, but I seriously doubt any work 24 hours straight.

You were notified 9 weeks ago that the sales would take place every Tuesday. That means that the sale was on at 4pm your time the day before, not 1am a day later. Likewise the web page announcing the sale was up long before 4pm your time the day before as well, I know because I saw it up long before the sale started.

The bottom line is if you forgot to check the webpage to see what was on sale before the sale started then it is your fault. If you forgot to check in game at least once during that entire 24 hour period to see what was on sale it is your fault. You had exactly the same amount of time to take advantage of the sale as everyone else, and it doesn't matter if the sale there started at 4pm or midnight or 7am. You still had an entire day, timezone has nothing to do with it.
