    Thumbs up nice work devs!

    SPOILERS inside

The event is funny, original and looks very promising even on its "beta" version.

The voice over on kobolds is soooo funny! It s a nice surprise to find and they will provide more than one smile. Hope to hear more quests with more dubbed characters (return of Cellimas? )

Getting how the event works is not hard, but maybe further and more detailed informations about torchs (aside the orange) would be welcome and useful.

It looked like working good to me and most important thing seems less boring than mabar cause you can use more strategies to get crystals.

Would be cool if we could put compass(NOT torchs please, cause we d lose them then ) in red bags, just like ethereal key. Also, it could be a smart move to keep it on a low price on ddo store...

Agreed! I didn't have a lot of time to play so i didn't quite get it on solo at level 20, but i did get some dubloons, crystals and tried playing with torches. Having a party would probably make it much easier if you coordinated the turn -in items look pretty fun too - can get epic-like items without running epic!

This also seems a lot more melee (non-monk specific) rewarding than casters, which seemed to be the feel i got from Mabaar. Anyhoo nice job, i look forward to running this with friends for real when i have more time!

FYI character copy worked fine & pretty quick! but i had to use Internet Explorer instead of Firefox (normal choice)for that part.

@Thoon, Mad, Cordovan, Tolero, or anybody:
You're killing us here. Killing us I say!! With anticipation.
Any plans on running another preview event?

    Talking lamannia preview

I absolutely LOVED the Crystal Cove preview!! Even with just a level 2 toon I had a blast. The loot available in the event is great and the various upgrades and volume are astounding! Can't wait to play it with my regular, high-level characters.
    Great work all!

Yeah, that's what I like about this one - my Rangers can have some fun now

I only got to play for maybe 2 hours, but I had a good time (had one of the devs (Cordovan) join our party, which was pretty cool) and am looking forward to it on Live. It's nice to have some variety in the events. I loved Mabar with my Clerics, and I really enjoyed the Dragon fight mechanic (except for the lag), but I like the way this event works too. I only wish there were a Dwarven Axe to craft from this one...

First off i want to say i love events ... and think they should happen MORE often not less. That being said ...I absolutely hated this one with a passion. while the concepts are cool and not hard to grasp really ... the mobs where a finger of death or dont try BS making this areas pretty much caster or bust much like the last event allowing no melee to enjoy this at all in anyway. The mobs take a long time to kill if your not instant killing them and the rewards require high price which is hard to obtain. In the three hours i played it with two other VERY good players we couldnt complete the task at our level (lvl 20) unlike the dragon where you could be in a group by yourself and talk in general. This time your in your own instance that requires 6 people just to maintain aggro and keep your idiot kobolds alive. Half the time they dont follow the pathing you set forcing you to buy more staffs or more kobolds.

While i am sure its a matter of learning the tricks and repeating i found this concept to be not fun at all. I have two casters ... i just dont enjoy playing them ... and in this event like the last one ... it appears its my caster or no gear ... meaning i dislike all of it but will be forced to grind it out like everyone else because the items are too powerful not to.

I just wanted to make it very clear ... this event sucks really really bad ... and i hope that you do not assume the few elitists who love this sort of thing and the hordes of others who hate it but will do it cause the items are to powerful not to ... means its good.

What the hell are you guys talking about? This event is horrible for non casters. The mobs hps are so high that they are more likely to kill you then you kill them one on one forget more then one. A caster can still finger of death mobs twice as fast as you can kill them. In fact I was killing mobs so frequently i had to bind in the tavern just to get my mana back faster via slash death.

Mass hold makes mobs targetable from afar then finger finger finger next group. This event is 100% caster .. even the inner part ... web fire wall ... or flesh to stone while another caster lays the path. If you think this event is rewarding for rangers and melee ... you need to learn to play a caster ... cause this event is caster only practically .. you dont even need a cleric a group of pale masters will get 10 times the ingredients and complete the end mission easier then any melee group with healers.

Pretty much disagree with everything here. Melee and Archers can do just fine in this event. Casters are useful, but I wouldn't say the only option. With a group of 6, we were able to complete the event the first time, even though 5 of them never ran the quest before.

Not sure why you had such a bad time.
