    Default epics

I think if turbine was smart they would make an epic house in the game. It could have have different portals for every 5 lvls ie, portal 1 would have all lvl 1-5 quests in epic lvl only ,6-10, 11-15, 16-20. I understand something like that would be huge to try and put into the game as an update, so why not build it into an actual expansion pack? That way those who enjoy the non-epic ddo can continue on with what they want to play and those that want epic gameplay can buy the expansion pack for X amount of dollars.

It would work in the same way as titan quest does. You install the expansion then copy any lvl 20 toons from reg ddo to the expansion pack. I'm sure this might take some time to do of course but in my opinion that would be a winwin all around.

my guess is that GH is being held back until they figure out a good way to make some money off of it.

I mean seriously. How many P2P people dont have gianthold?? I'm sure theres those few F2P people who grinded favor and could only buy one pack and picked up the vale. But I would wager a guess that a vast majority of people already own this pack.

Unlike desert or the dragon pre epic. The desert was only really being ran by those trying for a torq, and all the dragon loot had been long since outdated except as nice low level twink items. Epic turned both of these areas into must have adventure packs.

theres very little cash in gianthold epic, unless they make P2P customers purchase the epic option for it seperately.

the only thing I can really think of, is to continue with the Stormreaver storyline, and he sends you from the refuge back to gianthold for a bundle of quests. Revamp the town camp a little bit with maybe two more areas of NPCs, and add quests to the couple corners of the Gianthold map thats currently not used for anything but the odd rare or explorer. Gianthold P2, lvls 16-18 (?) with an epic option, which also unlocks Gianthold P1 epic.

I'd imagine right now, Titan is the least ran raid, and the adventure pack that includes a raid which has the fewest number of sales. If it wasnt for the epic revamp mentioned, this would be my guess for the next epic reboot. Sure gianthold might be finished, but why release it if you're not going to get any sales out of it.

Yes! I want an epic house in the game:

There was an epic warrior and he ran some epic quests,
He found some epic loot within some epic chests.
He bought an epic djinn, and married an epic spouse,
And they all lived together in an awesome epic house.

If you are against GH being epic... don't play it when it comes out....

If you are in favor ask for it and play it when it comes out....

I on my part would love to play it...

btw there are a lot of arguments here being thrown with no regards to logic... and also based on asumptions that need not be true.

    Exactly.

I dont like epics all that much ... the ones i like i play the ones i dont i dont ... if you dont like any dont play any .. if you hate giant hold then dont play giant hold quests. But for those of use who love it ... i think epic reavers raid and epic tor for epic dragon scale armor would make Tor played more often which makes tor armors easier to get which makes epic armors easier to get including epic red dragon.

it also allows for more options for gear ... epic Cloudburst epic madstone boots epic eternal gauntlets epic dreamspitter etc..... Gh is getting old and boring its not even needed all that much on TRs anymore so opening it up for people who want that kind of challenge is a good thing.

Also would love to see Epic Tangleroot .. Epic Deleras Tomb ... Epic Necropolis ... Epic Sharn Syndicate. Not only does it help promote sales for these packs but they all have gear that is out dated in todays game that could be exciting and new with the addition of epic versions of the gear.

Surely Tor wasn't quite ready, it takes more than just turning on the switch that gives epic ward.
Also needs rework again now that the u9 changes are coming.
But i think it wasn't done because the epic gh items aren't done.

GOMG! you discovered the secret! prepare to have your forum and ddo account terminated!@!@!@!!!!

waaaaay to many paranoid people here.

so, since you and all your guildies already have gianthold that means no one is buying it(cause you're the only person who plays ddo right?) anymore AND it means that they're just figuring out ways to make us pay for gianthold again!

Is it sad that recently the AUD has been better than the USD? If you American's (I mean that in the kindest way possible. ) aren't careful Turbine might just become an Australian company. Back up lag will soon be blamed on Kangaroos. Can anyone else imagine Fernando riding one of the said Kangaroos to Turbine HQ? (Not to enforce stereotypes or anything... >.>)

As of now... 1 Australian dollar = 1.0172 U.S. dollars... 0.0172 extra cents ftw!

    wrong on all counts.

Epic ward is just a simple buff that has no effect on stats. The monsters there had a ton more then just epic ward. They had there stats fully scaled, they cast new spells, and had new special abilities. They are done.

"need a rework" .. No it doesn't. Since it's a new dungeon, why would it need to change. It could just be released as a new harder epic. It's not like the current epics are at all balanced with one another, nor will the u9 changes make them so.

Epic Gianthold tor items are all fully done. Here's some:

It's not done. Gianthold was our internal testbed for epic. Nothing in there is balanced correctly, and the encounters still need a bunch of work.

It would be nice to have some harder Epics. Especially with all these changes to make Epics easier.

Too bad Epics couldnt scale based on original level.

Demon Sands: Original Lvl plus 15.
    Gianthold: Original Lvl plus 15.

So for instance: House D quests would be lvl7/8 plus 15= 22/23.

Hahaha! That would be pretty hilarious if our complains about the Turbine hamster dying were replaced by complaints about the Turbine kangaroo taking a nap or something.

Yeah, America is in a sad state.

I know you got some hands-on experience with some of the Epic GH stuff when it slipped onto Lama a while back--how much had been changed? Personally, I like the epic dungeons where the devs went in and made some real changes to them better than those that just got scaled. Chains of Flame's extra traps and the Hex Wraiths in Wiz King, as examples. I'm eager to play Epic Tor (much more so than any of the other GH quests likely to go epic), but I'd be a bit disappointed if it were identical in all respects aside from scaling and some of the monsters gaining new spells.

Are you really saying that those items are epic? That they're done? Those are pretty weak weapons. Allegiance maybe is enough, but it looks pretty boring.

Cool. But that was years ago.

    So..

    A) Not done - no plans to ever complete.
    Or
    B) Not done - working on it now.

    C) Depending on how the changes to epic in update 9 pan out you might see it in update 11.
