    Default Wyoh Hates Me

    Hi,

After being in a decent guild for 9 months or so it finally went poof a couple of weeks back and now I find myself getting tired of soloing and talking to hirelings. I have never actively searched for a guild before in any game. When I'm new to a game I just end up in a random guild and that usually turns out alright. But now I am at a point in this game where random just won't work for me anymore. I've never been on these forums and never really paid attention to the who's who of guilds on Orien. There are enough lists and repetition of advertisements that they all kind of blur together. So here I am looking for a guild and typing this post. What's the worst that could happen?

    My characters
    * [Main Character] Semirasai, level 16 TR'd Wizard (Wizard past life). A solo-capable Pale Master.
    * Level 15 TR'd Monk (Rogue past life). A loot loving dark monk.
    * Level 20 Favored Soul. Pure healer.
    * Level 15 Bard. Spellsinger.

Then I have a few other low levels that are just pack mules. I enjoy playing mainly caster/support types although I found playing a Rogue and now a Monk to be fun too. Ask me to play a Fighter though and I'll probably fall asleep.

I have all content. I have raid experience in Tempest Spine, Reaver's Fate, and The Shroud. To a lesser extent I've also done VoD and HoX. I have Completed just about every quest in the game except a few raids/pre-raids. I've done Epic VoN1 (if you can call that a real epic!), and Epic Big Top. I am mature, friendly, and helpful. I am on almost every evening in the Pacific time zone and sometimes during the day if I am off from work. I can play any style from slow and team-oriented to zerging (as long as I know what I'm getting into ahead of time).

What I'd like out of a guild...
    * Activity! I don't want to log on and talk to myself. Sometimes I answer back...
    * Friendly and Helpful. This should probably be a given.
    * Pay-to-play. In my old guild a large portion of its members were free-to-play. I'd like to group with mostly pay-to-play people who can enjoy all content.
    * Higher-end content. Harbor bores me to death! There is still a lot of high end content that I was not able to enjoy before. I would really like to start experiencing more higher-end content (and higher-end loot!). A guild with some very skilled players in leadership roles would be preferred.
    * Navigator! I hardly ever used any airship buffs but I sure miss the navigator now that I no longer have access to one.

There are several guilds on Orien that meet those standards. I will not list them in fear of passing out possibly unwanted attention. But there are a few that have posted recruitment threads recently and if that isn't enough feel free to send me a tell/mail in-game and i'll point ya in the right direction.

Miscellaneous by weight is a small, new, very active guild. Currently only 8 members we just attained guild level 43 last night. Although this might not seem to amazing we were only 4 members till about level 37. Upon hitting guild level 40 we have opened the doors to start working towards our main goal which is raiding/epics. Most members have alts or TRs that are constantly zerging quests and bringing in renown throughout all levels. Our play times are roughly 12pm-12am WST and some members are in EST. Although we do have a nav2 and decent ship buffs, I don't want this to be the "make or break" factor for joining since we are aiming towards a static group to level our guild, get everyone geared with epic/raid loot and most of all have fun with people we enjoy talking to. Most members are relatively mature, some more then others and I wouldn't join us if you can't take dirty jokes because those tend to fly around in guild chat. Anyways although I am the only recruiting officer I am not just going to send you an invite in the mail. If you would like to join us for some nightly epics or a raid, to test this out and see if we meet each others wants/needs let me know in game as curingwound or on here.

Though I am not a member of Miscellaneous By Weight, I've run with several of its members through various characters. I think they are a great group and might just be what you're searching for (active, social).

    Just my two cents.

Curing is a great player, as for his guild... I couldn't tell you, but I've always enjoyed having CW in our Intel Raids and quests, he's one of the best players on the server in regards to balancing leading, following directions, and helping people. So that being said, I love to see guilds that are following this mold.

As for your guild level CW, don't ever think it's unimpressive. Having a guild that is still together is impressive in it's own feat with the number of guilds that implode on a weekly basis. Good luck with it sir!

I'm beginning to understand why people just form their own guilds and toss their characters in there and forget about it. Finding a guild makes elite HoX look easy.

I never seem to wind up in groups with the same people so I never really establish any kind of connection with any person or guild. I have been joining various raids almost every day now but they're all random people every time. I'm not sure how anyone manages to seek out and mingle with specific groups long enough to join a guild when it's so easy to be on timers or have differing playing schedules. I'm pretty shy when it comes to people I don't know so I don't want to just send random tells to people who are probably busy in their own right running fun stuff with their own guildies.

I want to play with people who are better than me so that I may learn and improve. I want to log on one day and just run into an elite Shroud without giving it a second thought. But that just leads to the next problem. A disturbing percentage of good players are elitist [expletive]s. If you aren't perfect and able to solo epic raids in your sleep then go delete your character (never mind that it's a random pug where you should expect a wide range of player abilities). I don't say anything and just do my job but I end up being soured to more guilds than I can count before I even meet most of that guild.

It might not be as fun but maybe I should go back to guilds full of newer players and just sit back and smile while they ooooooo and aaaaah over IQ items.
