    Default More Raids Less Events

Just saying there has been 3 events in the last year and 1 new raid. I do not see why we could not have an aniversary raid instead of an anniversary event. Lets do a Halloween raid instead of a Halloween event next time. Since the devs are probably thinking about Halloween from a planning standpoint already - hey devs lets do a raid this time. Events = grind really in DDO. I like that newer players can enjoy events this is in large part because they have access. Well if that is some of the marketing appeal that new players have access why not make raids more accessible to newer players.

something like devil assualt could work nicely (for new player accessibility). Same quest, drastically different levels and boss encounters on the different settings.

From a story stand point, the main bad guy would have to remain the same, but he could have lieutenants ala shroud which are in addition to being more dangerous also give various buffs.

join that with what we're seeing with the new event crafting. Base raid items on normal, tier 2/3 upgradable on hard/elite, and then epic.

Because "anniversary raid" sounds wack, who even has an "anniversary raid"? "Anniversary event" is where its at or so I've heard.

In other news, I agree, raids are good. Events are like raids... but a lot laggier and repetitive..

Unlike the ice games Mabar can't be done solo. As more and more of the community have all they want from Mabar newer players and those of us in quieter tmezones are really locked out of the upgrade opportunities. Mabar is really unfair. If they do run it yearly I would hope they take another serious look at both the turn in and grouping mechanics.

More real raids to flag for and work together for in a fixed time seems a fairer and better investment.

Norg, I really am not trying to flame you with this but I think you are one of the exceptions here. It's not meant to sound bad, but I am a player that has not had much/any luck on the current stock of raids and epics for loot. I know you have, and it is because you have worked very hard to get the items that you want. You have earned the rewards that you currently have, and I get why you would want more newwer options. Sadly not everyone has been as dilligent as you have been in farming your loots. The events help players that have not "maxed" out their gear a good chance to get a really nice item. And while I like the idea of both raids and events, I'd really like more 16+ QUESTS than raids or events. In the meantime, I'll settle for what is given.

But I too, would like more options for loots weather it be from quest chains, events, raids, or just plain old unbound named drops.

For me, the main bonus of a raid is getting to play with all my friends. While some events allow this, it only allows it for a short Duration, while a new raid is accessible all the time.

/signed, there are enough of these very similar events in the library now, more new quests and raids / quest- and raid-like events instead !!!

    Yea good point norg.. /signed

Given the INCREDIBLY LONG development time required for a single dungoen, making time-based content just doesn't make sense for DDO.

All content should be available to all players at all times. Events can be fun ,but they do not need to be content like this one is.

And events dugeons, if you do make them, should always be raid s to get more players invovled. If you make it quest,s ppl will be left out by mere fact that there are not as many players interested in leading as in running.

    +1

    Make the pirate 'event' permanent...

Make a Dreaming Dark raid. Something with NO DEVILS(or demons) would be nice for a change in high level raids.

    Droaam level 15 raid.

    etc

    I already see the LFM.

    "Link crystal beater"

Instead, the Droaam raid is a very good idea. I mean, we could get a true raid-ending to this story cycle, where we beat all the three hags.

And at the same time at different locations, and they have to be killed in nearly the same time! And got self healing also (not insane self healing, it should be something like 1spell/minute, healing 500HP max, so each of 4 players at 1 sister must do at least 2 damage per second (on average))

    IMO, this would be awesome

With a business model based on microtransactions, limited time events make a lot of business sense. It has a psychological effect which will make people more prone to spend money, it's a common tactic used entertainment marketing. Since microtransactions turned this game around, I doubt this is the last time based event we'll see. I'm eager for some new high level content myself, quests and raids, but this game just isn't using the same business model as mmo's in the past and it's going to effect the type of content we're offered.
