There simply aren't enough offensive divine spells in the game to make Angel of Vengeance useful. I don't have enough faith in Turbine to add enough new offensive divine spells to make AoV worthwhile.

Well, according to Eladrin, we may have some influence on our prestige line. So, please put your vote and feedback as to whether you want the melee line (Divine Avenger) or the offensive caster line (Angel of Vengeance).

What we have learned from this thread:

Favored Souls live up to the promise of good melee, so more people have rolled melee FvS.

End-game offensive casting needs the buff! DC's are too low, dmg is too low, FvS and Sorc are in the same boat. Hopefully Sorcs get the much needed buff in U9

Note: Getting the Angel of Vengeance PrE will NOT fix this it's because Epic is broken and because their isn't any good way to DPS using a man pool vs.doing CC,etc. instead

A good CC SLA for AoV at T3 (not as good Mass Hold Monster in terms of CC*, but perhaps with damage to make up for that) that costed SP would be a good way to boost WIS-based FvS in Epics. Having it as a level 9 spell would also work.

*: Either shorter duration with auto-crit, or longer duration with no auto-crit

I agree Aylin. But a simple auto-crit enchantment spell would be boring, though would hit the spot.

Maybe adding miracle into the game here would be fun?

When you cast it at your target, it could have a semi-random CC effect. You could get a single target or mass hold, command, dance, petrify, etc...

My Wizard manages to kill mobs fine when soloing epics, using the cheap Evocation spells. Medium DPS, exceptional damage per mana, and the blue bar goes far enough as long as I'm careful with it.
