"Again I said most not all, I to was hoping more for a Patch, but understand this event is for anniversary."
See above emphasized sentance: Since there are maybe 12 active posters in this thread that have voiced an opinion (at all), that means half of them (6) do not fit your description. Thus, the other half (6) is not a majority. As well, many of the positive (not negative) statements have come from 09/10 joiners. Thus, also not in your imagined majority. Lastly, many of your alleged 'Negative Reviews' have been voicing disappointment that this is a patch and not an update, which is neither a review nor necessarily negative.

I have read your statement, and I have read this thread. Have you read the other threads? The one where founders are ACTIVELY complaining?

    Like, say... the top one?

For the new feature I'm going with either Psionics or some kind of shapeshifting tech

Anyone have a screenshot of what he means by how you pick the level of the quest? I downloaded Lammania but the preview was on between 6-8am on a saturday.

I think it would be alot better for them to fix the old things before adding more broken updates.

    Just my thoughts.

Very original thoughts they are too... So what broken thing is it you need fixed that they should halt all development to fix?

    Sweet!
Things worthy of Standing Stone going EXTREME PREJUDICE™ on.:
    • Epic and Legendary Mysterious ring upgrades, please.
    • Change the stack size of filigree in the shared bank to 50. The 5 stack makes the shared bank worthless for storing filigree in a human usable manner.
    • Fixing why I don't connect to the chat server for 5 minutes when I log into a game world.
    • Fixing the wonky Lightning Sphere and Tactical Det firing by converting them to use alchemist spell arcing.
    • Redoing the drop rates of tomes in generic and raid loot tables.

This makes me wonder...what will people ask for if we got druids, gnomes, shifters and everything else everyone has wanted since forever?

Default What is it with the number 9 and turbine

Been playing since pre-sale 2006 and back in the day when they had modules they got to 8 and then they promised and promised number 9 and it never came. Now I am fearful history will repeat it self. Oh I remember the posts Doom it's the end of the game. Hey turbine just give us some info for the faithful. You guys are putting out some great stuff lets keep it up and not go back to the old days and for God sake dont put out another necro 3 area that would push me over the edge.

If the devs release update 9, that big pot of betting money that they were going to use as severence when the re-release went bankrupt will disappear in thin air...

I would have thought the updates would go from 8.8 to 8.10

    Why risk having an 8.9?

Nononononono -- Update 8.9 is a myth, created by some overenthusiastic fanboys

    ... Roll on Update 8.8.1 ...

(and just for trivia reasons, we would currently be in Mod 13 ; and Updates 9/10 would be Mod 14 (even-numbered Updates like 2 & 4 were designated "Adventure Packs" by Codemasters in the old "Modules" system))

I bet 2000 copper pieces that update 9 will include:

    1) Getting rid of the normal, hard elite settings and allowing people to set the level of quests, I so want to cap out in Korthos!

    2) Sorcerers get a new Wizard prestige, so they can have the same DC as a Wizard!

    3) A new loot/crafting system based on the upgradable thingy do wacker they are using in the live events.

    4) 2 more non epic raids level 16 - 18ish

    5) Pet Kobolds

    6) INCREASING THE LEVEL CAP FROM 20 to 25.

    1) Doubt it. Maybe select quests or select quest packs. Maybe only newly developed quests.

    2) Sorcerers are getting the Elemental Savant PRE's. It will probably increase DC's with only certain spells.

    3) Maybe. We kind of have that with Trap Crafting and the Attack on Stormreach.

    4) Probably only one raid if we get a raid at all.

    5) That'd be cute, but probably no.

    6) Not going to happen. Going from level 21+ really starts changing game rules, and I don't think the devs have worked out the specifics yet on how to do Epic Levels.

    Default Dooooom

As I said before, Turbine did this to us before. We will get Update 9 right after and only after Mod 9 comes out. I am still waiting....waiting...and again waiting.

Really I just think we need to come back to earth, they have been coming out with new stuff very quickly and if they slow down the new content it will just mean they will make less money, and I find that hard to believe they want to make less money. I also know that Tubine's other game LOtR has a big update coming out so I sure the boys in marketing want to get their full bang for their buck.

DDO-Tubine I just want to say thanks for the several years of fun and companionship. I just don't know why all the good content has to end with the number 8?

Is it just me that thinks the increased scalability of 'select your own level' could have very positive future implications?

Think of what could be done if, say, Amrath quests could be played at difficulty 17 (current Casual), 19 (current Norm), 21 (current Hard), 23 (current Elite) but also at 25 or even 30 for those looking for an insane challenge...

Or for newer players wanting to just get a foothold in Epics, being able to run Epic Wiz-King at 23 instead of 25.

This could be the best thing to happen to DDO in a long time, if it's used widely.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

If this is what's happening...... as far as levelling TR's goes.......my mind went there straight away.

If i could run certain quests on x number of different difficulty settings, some quests, just some mind you, would see an awful lot of me, but i'm not really sure that's how it would work.
It would mean you never had that gap in xp in certain levels. Just run whatever quest at the level you were at, it sure would solve a lot of problems, but how would some dungeons scale?.
If this is the delay, and if it's coming, omg Jim~! Worth waiting for.

    Interesting idea though.

    Coit out~

I'm not sure what form it will take but I foresee the "pick your own adventure" quest level selection technology having a big role in future content. Maybe quests won't scale fluidly from level 1 - 20 but perhaps new content will have a broader level spread (Gianthold for levels 7 - 17) with a tiered crafting end reward system like the present event (with a percentage of crystals lost to over level play)

My question on that would be this: How would choosing the level of quest impact the favor system? The way favor currently is, they'd have to completely change how favor works, unless they assign a level range to the old quest difficulties. This would be a major headache, possibly a future grind running every quest we've done again at level 20 to max out favor... Again, all speculation, but it sounds as if full scalability creates more problems than it solves. I'd LOVE to be able to party with people of different levels than me, even if it involves the higher people in the party taking temporary negative levels that disappear when the quest is over in order to avoid the powerleveling penalty. But that introduces the problem of level 20s with 18-19 negative levels helping people do Korthos, while they still have their +6 stat items, greensteel, epic gear... heck, even something like Minos Legens.. 20 extra HP and heavy fort on Korthos would be incredibly godly even with a ton of neg levels.

Maybe they're giving us 1 or more random dungeons which we've begged for?

It could be that we're getting a way to create our own dungeons/adventures, as they have said before that they're looking into it, and user-created content is present in other games. (No more lack of content for sure!)

Could be Epic levels-it's not like it's not easily doable.

    I bet it's Druids/Shifting.

Might be the crafting they've told us about before that includes ordinary gems, which is why they told us over a year ago to hang onto our gems, as they might be used in crafting recipes in the future. I still have all of my gems since this game launched except the very few that I sold. The pirate box in the anniversary event requires stolen gems for some recipes; if they'd let me just steal gems from other players too that would be kewl!- I know-let me sap other players and drag them into the alley and empty their gem pouches! It TOTALLY fits with the pirate-theme!

Don't forget that we'll have the Egg Hunt as well to keep you from getting bored; I still have tons of toons with the hunt tokens from last year that I didn't have time to use. Of course I bet they'll put out the egg hunt and pirate b'day event in the same update and run them together for a while, or alternate between them. Or, the big update "# which shan't be uttered here due to its spooky curse" MIGHT be that they are releasing the egg hunt after the b'day event, and that they have filled in a hole in the game by putting in an extra gold egg in that hole over there where there wasn't one-you know over there, in that pothole in the bushes...
