As long as the new tech in U9 meets the criteria for "major hole in the feature list" (loosely quoting a Dev forget who it was).
If the "new tech" that fills a "major hole" in the feature list is actually something that makes a coder smile and high five each other, but will probably just makes players shrug (like the new way you select what level a live event is set at fer example Then it might be a good idea to temper our expectations now. I know how coders are, to a coder a new .05% more realistic RNG might be something to get excited about
I suspect you were being a little facetious and definitely don't want you to take the tone of this post wrong but if I'm misreading you by any chance: Yeah maybe a good idea to temper our expectations a little... I think it's safe to say that if a "major feature" in terms of MMO feature lists isn't added, you guys might have to listen to some pretty disappointed forum curmudgeons. (or maybe D&D feature?)

This type of denial seems to indicate that the 'enchantable' and 'upgradable' is not new tech.
Due to the secrecy being displayed I have to suspect it is something that would allow people with foreknowledge to profit, therefore I assume it will be a type of crafting that will have us using gems in crafting recipes. I think I will start hording now. I realize it is just an attempt to sell huge gem bags on the DDO store tho.

The first rule of the trashcan guild is expect to die...
There is no second rule.

So... you're saying you have a big sack?

Sorry Druids is 6 letters
make fun of crafting all you want, but I want something to do in the game when I can't be in a quest, I'm so bored lately with the lack of news on the forums, getting my real life work done too early and the AH search feature has pretty much made the AH mini game no fun any more... The game needs more to fill it out and crafting is the biggest time sink that is missing from DDO.
Besides I had a Blacksmith in UO and when all was said and done it was the only character I missed when I left the game.
This is an patch with an event thrown in, Nowhere has turbine said any different. The one thing about it I would like to know is, Will this be an Annual Event.
Now have you noticed that most negative reviews of this are coming from 2009/2010 people. I guess we have to hold more than just hands.
Your troll-fu is not strong.
I count six different posters with join dates of '08 or earlier, in this thread alone.
Also, not necessarily negative. Most of this thread has been focused on voicing disappointment. Personally, having not been able to get into Lama-land, I can't 'Review' anything. But I can say I was hoping for more than a patch.
Now, go back and find a premise that isn't false, and pick a different straw man to throw rocks at.

" I said neg responses not just posters"

"Again I said most not all, I to was hoping more for a Patch, but understand this event is for anniversary."

"Now read What I said, not what you think I said, and find a premise that isn't false."
Ps. Here's your rock back.
Complaints coming from all sides I think.
My only big complaint is that we were thinking the next update would be Update 9, not patch 8.1, and noone from Turbine made any corrections to temper expectations.
At least it seems the Anniversary event will be more enjoyable than Mabar and will hopefully be a nice distraction while we wait for Update 9.
