  1. #1

    Default Not U9?

The release notes are up highlighting the Live Events.

So I take it this is nout Update 9, correct?

    <sigh> Only U8 patch 1 <sigh>

A little disappointing considering we all thought it was going to be Update 9.

I guess this is an Anniversary Patch, and they plan on Update 9 a bit later? There were rumors that they were planning two updates...

    This is very lame...

Biggest let down for sure.... Would of been nice if devs let the community know what type of patch was coming, instead of letting hype build up...

While it does explain some of the rumors it is pretty dissappointing.

If we don't get some new high end content soon, I am not going to have much of a guild left.

This is not an update. It is just a patch. We gotta wait another month for them to release Update 9 to Lamma and then another month for it to go Live.

This is disappointing. I wanted to see what the awesome new tech is that fills a hole in the feature set and was implemented in a very fun way

But on the plus side it is nice to see we will all be getting pirate hats.

It probably wouldn't be such a let-down/disappoint if it had been made more clear earlier that we would be getting a patch first, then Update 9.

This probably does mean we won't see Update 9 till sometime around March. Most likely there will be some showing of it at PAX East. But I guess that would at least put Druids on the imaginary table.

    *sigh*

Hopefully the Anniversary Event is fun.

I guess after careful review of the various request threads and surveys Turbine determined that what the community really wants is new hats.

That and more "buy now" buttons.

Now when you open you bank, you get directed to the ddo store to be reminded they sell bank spaces. Only after buying them for 500 TP per character can you access the bank again.

    Have a good day.

I know I can buy bank spaces, I don't need a BUY NOW!!!!! flashing at me when i'm at the bank.

    I doubt that.

If that IS happening, it's probably not WAI.

If you just made that up to try and be funny... 0/10

Such is life, update 9 *apparently* has a lot of new stuff and changes and there is clearly some problem with it currently that cannot be fixed prior to the anniversary, or it still is being worked on, so we can see the aniversary special event now as a cookie to nibble on. As much as I hate turbines lame PR, I hate buggy releases even more... T

    /Sarcasm fail

Its not meant to be funny, just to point how ridiculous things are getting. Do you really need / want a BUY NOW!!! over everything you can buy with TP? But thanks for for your input.

This made me depressed. So many people are about to leave for other games coming out and this patch isn't no where near enough to keep them around. Was hoping Update 9's Sorc Pres, reworked spell system, and new content would keep a lot of vets around. This patch isn't going to stop the flow of players to the new games coming out. Epic Gianthold would have been enough, pirate hats are not.

Also I can't believe it took 2 months to fix the Risia display bug. Would have been nice to get that out in a timely manner when we could still craft.

Well, I think the 'new tech' is the 'enchantable' and 'upgradable' features on items. Hopefully it makes it into the general loot tables and not just on event items. It does seem to have some potential.

I am not very familiar with Eberron PnP, but does it seem to anyone else that the 'enchantable' tech might be a prelude to Artificers?

There's already been a few things that could hint at artificers being possible. The Master's Touch spell is a very good example of this since it puts a buff on a weapon. That said, I think artificers are still a ways off since they're not exactly a much requested class.
