I realized the OP wasn't about me... I was just hoping it was the same person who used myddo to pass judgement on me is all...

Yes, like that. If I see this in myDDO, I will ignore everything it says and go off other things.

But also take this note. The only time I myDDO anyone is if I'm pugging something, and someone from a 'deny them always' guild hits it. Sarlona has many. Most people autodecline, I hit myDDO. If the dude is geared and set up competently (doesn't have to have raid gear or anything, just a setup that makes sense) I let them in. If their setup is trash, they get a deny.

If I see a timestamp that tells me myDDO is out of date for them, they get a deny (unless I happen to know the person, in which case I wouldn't myDDO anyways).

There is one other use I had for myDDO. I was using it to keep tabs on a certain someone's gear loadout and feed info to a few individuals on recommended tactics. Many of these moments led to some excellent forum drama. I personally don't PvP here much (I play EVE for that).

Using MyDDO for putting a group together is pretty NOOBish. Using it after a crappy run to find a weak link is understandable. Using it to make fun of people over VENT is a must .....(I like the people who fully buff themselves before they log...you guys are just as bad as a dude with 249 HP in my book.)

    - I have bailed out level 14s out of VON3 with my level 10 wizard who kept dying over and over. (they begged on the lfm) In the old days, they'd have a full level worth of exp penalty and would never have even made it to 14.

    - I have run with clerics whom I've had to keep alive with my heal scrolls just to avoid the 10% exp penalty, while also healing the rest of the party, while also killing/trying to aggro everything so it didn't damage them, and crowd controlling. Fun times. How their mana bar disappeared in the first 60 seconds of the quest is anyone's guess but I'll go with maximized empowered cure light wounds.

    - And I have met level 20 one shot 250 no fort melees, who, on average, die 10 times a quest (if they get res'd 10 times - I'll admit I even started resurrecting them without healing them just to punish their repair bill, until they stopped accepting the res)

You don't want to believe it no matter what everyone says? Fine, but if you stick to that you're being as obtuse as the noob who won't listen and think 250 hitpoints is a-ok and fort is for fighters.
/Troll>Sounds like you are the most uber player on your server, those groups you were in are truly better for having been in your presence </Troll

I'm just kidding, I love your hair. If that is truly the case, then I would chalk it up to a bad rash of players, and it IS possible to get to 14 being a worthless n00b. Getting to 20, I still state and believe, requires that SOMEWHERE along the line you do something.

On a side note, how did you know those clerics had never cast a single spell unless you are talking about a cleric you yourself made hmmmmmm? I highly doubt the cleric didn't cast HJEAL, you asked him why, and he said "Shut up n00b I have never cast a spell when I level up and the screen with all the names next to icons comes up I have no idea what it's for I am uber WIS is a dump stat glarrrrrrrr!". If that DID happen, then I would have sat back and enjoyed the fail(tm) :P

The other problem I have with this is that last time I checked it couldn't even tell me the name of half the gear on my monk. Problematic, but not sure how widespread that part of it is.

This thread has inspired me to make sure I always take my barb into the lobster and have a cleric give me about 18 neg levels before I log off. And yes, I will equip my masterwork greataxe too.

I just ran my first epic on my wiz yesterday, great runs (partycrashers and Big Top, so easy), so ive not seen these people in epics yet..

but I see them constantly in non-epic raids. In Hound, 18 Fighter with no +Con item. 17 Ranger with no +Str item. 17 Monk with no +Con item. NINETEEN CLERIC with no +Con item. If anyone should know the value of more Con, its a Cleric ><

When We're gathered inside Shroud entrance and I toss Mass Bear's and it procs on 4 melees, that's pathetic. When I toss Mass Bull's and it procs on THE SAME 4 Melees PLUS a Cleric and a Bard and a different melee, that's when I tell the group leader (who usually is one of the ones who just got buffed by me) good luck with the failrun, I'm out.

The one time I stayed in, we had to do Part 2 5 times, and the entire party died in the first 5 seconds of Part 4 because no heals were thrown and evidentally noone meleeing Harry had more than 300 HP.

Actually, its the current state of the grind IMO that's the problem. It rewards players for running easy quests over and over again, and doesn't reward actual skill.

How bout the problem where it doesn't have any of my gear etc... Plus even if the timestamp was yesterday I could have LRed or reset enhancements to gain significantly different stats. Face it if you're using my ddo for anything ever you are going to be at risk for some bad #s. Just use your experience. "he died in one hit, he must be gimp". Not "my ddo says this toon is gimp".

Grind does more than that. It scares away casual players.

    I agree.

Faster, easier, and less expensive to level up doing the easy stuff. This teaches little about what your character can and should do, or how to deal with it when stuff hits the fan in many cases.
