Simply put, they do waaaaay too much damage for lv 12 weapons, exceeding by orders of magnitude damage from other ml 12 weps. Heck, they do this at level 16 too, but as said, they are hard to get.

I am operating under normal assumptions here, even if a level 16 runs Shroud at level, said person will have advanced to, say, level 18 at least before he/she has crafted a 3rd tier gs. True you could run it at lv 14, but by the time you have enough ingredients, you will have gotten to lv 16 or so, unless you only ran shroud over and over and played nothing else.
Have you ever done a TR2? Why do you think it needs to be longer? What is the challenge in killing swarms of Ogres/Giants/Trolls etc with some sort of "+3 Flaming X of PG" vs. a LitII? It's the same challenge, just that using a random weapon takes longer. All you're doing is increasing the grind, and not by much TBH because mobs have low HP compared to the damage output of a pack of power-leveling TRs.

Epic weapons are different. They are ML20 simply because they are epic. There are many epic weapons that could me lowered to ML10 and no one would notice because they're ****.

    Must leave due to time.

Not GS then waht would you see - Bararians running with icy bursted paralizers (it take twice as much time to kill enemy, but make them more survivable in the way).
Give it a rest -> none GS will save your sorry 4$$ when you agro 5 elite deugars archers in Ataraxian mineshaft.

    unnecessary.

Early use of Greensteel is one of the appealing aspects of TRing. the devs wont change that.

There was once a time where GS had a much lower ML. I earned my GS by running many a Vale quest and Shroud runs. I don't feel bad for folks that think the ML is too low. Craft some GS, and let me know how "unfair" it is when you add survivability to a quest.

I agree that GS is over-powered for the level 12-16 quests...

Pretty much all raid gear is overpowered at its min level (Tharnes Googles at 13?)

But raid gear and GS items are the main thing that makes TRing fun...

Best part of getting to next level as a TR is pulling stuff out of the bank...

    so NOT signed

It is like going to a museum and bragging about how fast you made it through. Or bragging about how fast you finished a good steak.

What they should do for Greensteel ML:
    Blank: 12
    Small shard: 12
    Med shard: 14
    Supreme shard: 16
    Dual supreme: 18

    But with additions:
A level 12 character can equip the item, but the full effects don't activate yet.

I am pretty sure raising the ML of an item set is not too difficult, but i might be wrong...

to clarify, i love the exhiliration of WHAM two Lit II khopeshes in Gianthold/ VoN hard-elite, etc. etc. But... i dont want weapons that make my dps= to the rest of the party's dps
Leave them in your TR bank until you reach 16 if that is what you want. Your problem is solved.

This is a really bad idea. In fact they should really do the opposite, reducing the ml of gear by your TR count. Provide a little more incentive to do it.

    Thumbs down

Turbine is not going to change the ML of greensteel. That would upset too many people and probably drive many people away from the game. The last thing they want to do is lose revenue.

    1) you are not taking into account alt mat farming

    2) you are not taking into account airship crafting alters

    3) you are not taking account of the ah

These 3 simple features make it very easy for anyone to get a gs item at level 12 you can build blanks as soon as you can enter the vale and thats all you need to craft these days. and if you cant beat a normal shroud with a group of 14's you need to learn some tactics it's not that hard we did it for years.

Ps: new players are spoiled by the newer level caps and are really growth stunted by what they think they should be able to do at almost every level. they really have no idea what their toons are capible of

The rest of us were running shrould and getting GS items at L13-14 before you joined the game.

Then don't use your GS if you don't want to.

BTW Frost Burst if WAY more OP than GS, make a thread to eliminate that first.
