    Default WF Wiz/Fighter

    Hello, yes it's me ArchStriker with another question about multiclasses. I am interested in making a warforged wizard fighter/ maxed out int with some str and con. I want this toon to be able to do some pretty awesome casting, and melee for some without getting brutally murdured. Wf, and I have 28pts. Thanks, -ArchStriker

    I'd go with one of the following:

    17 Wiz/2 Rog/1 Fighter
    17 Wiz/2 Rog/1 Barbarian
    17 Wiz/3 Monk
    17 Wiz/2 Monk/1 Rog
    17 Wiz/2 Rog/1 Monk

    Str: 14 (16 if 32 pt)
    Con: 16
    Int: 18
    dump the rest


    The key here is make sure whatever you get from multiclassing a wizard outweighs the loss of the capstone. For me, this has to include evasion.

    What type of weapons would those builds use. I'm thinking thf, but the sword and board caster seems soo cool, yet the shield is such an arcane spell failure magnet.

    Also phidius could you give me like a level by level guide. I see the idea of using sp w/ some melee when needed then when out a tiny bit of melee, but not full on rush into the heat of combat.

    I've just rolled up a WF pure Wiz. I plan to melee a hell of a lot.

    Therefore, i took 14 str, 8 dex, 18 con, 18 int, 6 wis, 6 cha.

    You don't need to multiclass to be good at melee. Just cast masters touch and swing a greataxe or whatever you can get your hands on, it's great.

    I'm looking forward to hold person / hold monster for auto-criticals. I may take power attack then for better DPS.

    The advantage of this is that if you don't like to melee later then you will still be an awesome spellcaster.

    I can't stress enough that to make a viable melee arcane you need ridiculous amounts of resources to make it work and lots of gear. Please, stay pure.

    I prefer THF, but keep a sword and +5 Light Mithral shield for shield blocking (DR, not AC).

    It would depend on which build - the one with 3 monk woud go with Qstaffs, otherwise it's a mix of types.

    Mauls for skeletons
    Falchions for Smiting (with Keen, ofc)
    Greataxe for "DPS"
    etc...

    Which one?

    Basically, they all would level similiarly - first level in [insert class with the most skill points], 7 levels of Wizard. The remaining levels would be taken based on when you can maximize the use of your skill points.

    If you don't plan on going WF, I'd highly recommend either a pure PM, or an 18/2 PM.

    go 20 wiz WF, 18 int (level up here), 16-18 con, rest in str. Master touch and melee with a two hander
