Last evening on a Shroud run, my Cleric/Ranger (17/2....don't ask why, long story) was healing in an 11 man run, one other cleric type.
Parts 1, 2, and 3, all aces, completed in good time. Fun group, solid folks. Some of the mics were a bit loud, but no huge issues.
We get to part 4. Trash goes down quickly, big boy comes out and things are going steady. As blade come in, we are at about 20%. With the group there, I am guessing that a few folks forgot power attack, or there was good DPS, just not enough Boss Beaters (Met/puregood/holy/sliver/minII etc.).
Then, in 3 seconds, it goes to Hades in a Handbag. Someone...Not I, and not the other cleric, yells "Get out of the blades".As folks scatter, Harry drops a DBFball, meteor swarm, and several claw swipes. 4 DPS, and two Magi types die in record time.
The ONE DPS who stayed in the blades, and my heals are centered on, survives. He survives the next round as well...but pretty much all is lost.
So, why was it CJ's fault (CJ, that's me)? Simple. I did not say "Stay in the blades" or "Stay in the blades or I will kill you myself" (TM Stainer) prior to the round. I should have told the team prior to the round, and instead I just assumed because it had been so long since I had seen anyone try to scatter and survive, I assumed that it was out of everyone's system.
The good news is that I did a follow up run 30 min later, and everything was full of win. No problems, no leaving blades.
Yes, I know this is a simple story, and there are some areas where I should go into further detail, but my point to all of this...Healers, let your party know what you expect them to do, even if you think they already know. Saves time and trouble.
