Get rid of "typing noise"

The noise the game makes when you're entering text in the chat input. It's annoying. Or make it a toggle so people who like it can keep it on.

Sorry, can't agree with this while they still have plenty of other things to fix that would be of more use to the general crowd, and not while they have other classes/races/PREs/Feats/Spells on the slate. If it bothers you that much, then just turn your effects volume down, or if you think you're going to be typing a lot turn your speaker volume down until you're finished.

Yes. Its a little swishy noise. And yes it is very annoying and unnecessary. I have no idea who thought to add sound effects for typing... like that was necessary.

If it's to let players know that they're typing into chat, surely having 50 windows pop up and your character activate all their action boosts at once and then autorun off a cliff, is enough of a clue.

not all turbine employee work on classes/races/PREs/Feats/Spells... some of them work only on lil details like 'typing noise'. So even if you dont want them to change it because you think its gona slow to process for more important fixes, it doesnt make any difference at the end. The guy who is suposed to fixe classes will still be fixing classes and the guy fixing the UI will still fixe the UI.

I like it. I often use the commands such as /g, or /uc1 when I don't have those chat inputs showing on my screen. The "Scribbling" noise confirms that I'm typing.

I agree with Memnir... would be okay if they made a toggle, but I like the noise...

And it's not a "swishy" noise, it's supposed to be a quill writing on parchment...

So not really a swishy noise, but more like a skritchy noise.

Looking back at things, if there's a dev (or two) in charge of UI improvements, then working on a toggle for this sound effect shouldn't be too difficult to implement. I just hope it doesn't accidentally work on something it's not supposed to. I'm no dev, so I can't even fathom what it takes to make that work or not work. If it can be done, then hey, let them eat their cake. That 'noise' doesn't bother me at all.

The noise is good. Its lets you know immediately if you have the chat window clicked when you go to move.

sorry, i'm usually too concentrated with the game to actually be concerned about typing noises, don't think i've even noticed them until this thread
dammit ppl, concentrate on doing your job more in group!
