Normally I try to restrict my posts to complaining about things like AC and grazing hits

I came across a post from another server with a solo melee VOD and I thought cool... But as I never seem to be able to pull the Chattering ring I had to wait for the Abashai set. Anyway VOD soloed by a non WF/Caster Melee (Drow even)

Yep, over use of DW clickies (was not letting go much below 2 min) after forgetting it the first time, apparently when you are level 8 you dont last too long there .

2 SF pots and around I think around 10 Majors, could have done with far less majors but really wanted to complete it so over healed and over buffed continually.

85 ac is easy, I was PA throughout it at around 80 for the most part and getting hit wasn't really an issue and I got cursed maybe x2? The only problem is when you are swamped and chained at the same time you can't see if you are cursed.

Firebats at the end were really the only challenge once I knew what I was in for (and remembered to use **** dw clickies) as they carved me up in the run before as I stupidly did it close to 3 am and forgot to active my cloak of ice.

Am sure you could do it on your ranger but you would have to TR to elf or drow first, though I could use a dwarf sidekick

I'd be interested in trying this, but I think lack of Evasion would probably kill me at the end. Not to mention that it would take me much longer, as my AC doesn't get that high without outside buffs and a shield.

Trying to get the stat mix right is just plain nasty though, particulary if you hate tank and need to hold against a Barb.

Pure DOS pallys and Stalwarts have their advantages though, far few stats means that your dps mode should be higher and you hp certainly will be (carrying a 36 dex and 26 wis is not easy). That and far better self healing makes up for the difference in AC and is better in many cases. My DOS pally luvs the Glorious Stand clickie though I believe it should last far longer than it does.

Yeah, I never use Glorious Stand. It's just so hard to pinpoint a situation where 20 seconds of better healing is appropriate, and where you don't think you're going to need it more badly in the next few minutes. It should definitely last longer or have its cooldown removed!

And again (that's a cross-thread "again") I also end up not using it due to not having it on any of my gamepad buttons.

I think the difference in AC while in DPS mode is significant, though.

While as achievments go it may not be world stopping but it was important to me so I should say thanks to quite a few folks for their help in getting to this point. Particulary my guild the Crimson Eagles and raid channels and especially Khel and Stopwound for their never ending raids and dealing with my obsessiveness. Stopwound was probably the biggest inspiration though as he always seemed to enjoy getting me to tank hard or elite but always forgetting a bard :-p

Never the less we trust in the Wound

Oh and thanks to the Gimpy dwarf Roldy for the use of the Wanderlust Tier 3 alter after I forgot to take one of my items when gearing up for this into shroud to craft.

Also, my attempts at using emotes while the UI is hidden have all resulted in failure. Is there some trick to this?

I should point out, maybe 1 month or so back I duo'd VoD with Williace on my fvs. That was pretty cake, and I kept asking him when he would solo it

Now I need to keep asking when he will solo Hard and Elite

Considering the cost of SF pots, using SP to heal with would end up being cheaper I am pretty sure. And stop you from getting -5 or -10 ac.

Good luck getting him to post the exact build, we have been asking for a while lol.
