Default Replace the Training Dummy with a Standard NPC

I understand the idea behind the dummy and it was a cute idea but in practice it is rather annoying. For a number of reasons:

    1) It's an unnecessary delay. It takes time to kill the dummy. There is always a backup at the dummy while people wait for others to finish.
    2) It creates issues and drama. XYZ stole my buff. etc.
    3) For the lowbies who would benefit the most it takes a longer to get than all the buffs combined.

The idea of practicing on a dummy is cute but in practice it's a PITA that creates drama and just wastes time to the point where we decided to remove it from the ship entirely.

Please replace the dummy with a standard NPC that gives the buff the same as all the other buffs. This would be simpler and more efficient for all.

Another purpose of the training dummy was to test different damage and rolls on it. So that does make it useful.

Furthermore, as for the time thing: that's why you start it first.

Before I get it on ship for 1st time I liked "vent your frustrtation" in description, so this was the main reason why I wanted dummy. But then, as I couldn't cast anything on it, it just was annoying. Either allow us destroy it with whatever we want, or just use this suggestion.

If you had drama over who killed the training dummy, then you have problems much larger than the training dummy itself.

I understand the argument for using it to work out dps, maybe keep the dummy for that purpose and make it invincible but I agree that to get the bonus it would be much more preferable to just speak to an npc as per all the other ship buffs.

Having said that..... this isnt a top priority, but I would like to see it changed. I tried to get the bonus the other day for the first time on my gimpy wf wiz and i had to stop half way through as my fringe grew so long i need to go get a haircut.

On a crit immune construct, the whole testing motif flies out the window but fine leave the dummy and add an NPC with the same buff.

why don't we just admit that airships are the dumbest thing in this game and move on with our lives? seems much easier to me.

    To the points in order

    1) Yup.

    3) yup.

/signed because if you really want to test out your dps go ahead and run some epics or a raid. There are plenty of mobs in there that are just sit and swing mobs...

I'd like the training dummy to be replaced with a replica npc that looks like the Guilds leader!!! It would improve Guild morale everywhere! lmao

Or, grab some guildies and start wacking.

If anyone in out guild wants the buff, they just ask for help. 3 or more people come running, and we take it down in no time.

Even a group of lowbies working together can take it down pretty fast, once for each toon.

ALL I would add would be a stacking 30s haste buff after you wack it.

They were few and far between but it was just another drop in the anti-dummy bucket. Mostly it was non-guildies invited to the ship.

    The big one was.

Void IV... Where's the dummy, who voided it, heeehhehe, only gimps need it. Blah...enough no dummy.

Replace the Dummy with Coyle. Now THAT would be uber, I'd stand there all day beating the git into the ground.

Now we have the respawning kobold in the lordmarch palace to test our melee dps on, i agree, having an npc to simply grant the attack bonus would be much nicer & more convenient.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

On most raid nights we run 3 full groups. 36 people getting the buff plus people not raiding. That's a traffic jam. It still takes a while when you all beat it...just skip it sure good answer...just make it an NPC like all the rest so you don't have to. Much easier...

Without the dummy, I can blast through the ship and get buffs and be at the quest in under 60 seconds. Make it fast and easy for everyone. Remove the reason people get stuck standing around waiting.

Id prefer to see it kept but reduce the damage required by at least half .
