Hello all, I have a 14th level wizard and when I try to use Greater teleport, no matter where I am, an error message of "This action cannot be done in a public place" or something like that. Anybody know what gives? Is it just my character?

have you tried it inside a quest? Are you getting this message inside a quest?
GT is limited to non-public instances (explorer zones and quests) because it's an AOE.

If you have the vale pack, you could teleport to merida with your regular teleport. then turn around and step into the vale and use greater teleport.
One would think this would have been your clue as to what's wrong."This action cannot be done in a public place"
would you want to click "no" 50 times every time you're doing your bank business?
Working crafted handwraps, that would be nice. Anytime soon.
I wouldnt want to have to click or wait for the pop up to go away particularly in meridia when there are 6 shrouds about to start and there are 50 people standing there, I can only imagine what the server will do in this instance while it waits for all those pop ups to go away or get denied.
Instead of thinking only of how things affect you perhaps you should consider the others around you, this is not meant just for the OP but everyone in general.
Enjoy yourself your time on earth is very short.

Spell could work only on party members
Anyone who can cast Greater Teleport can also cast regular Teleport and that can be done in public instances. I'm pretty sure that Teleport scrolls are cheaper than Teleport Rods.
It would have been nice if they could code Greater Teleport to hit all party members in the AoE, but it hits everyone in the AoE, so limiting it to private instances makes sense.
