Default weapon set empty hands cycle and no drag and drop

Am I the only one that has a problem with the empty hands at the end of the weapon set cycle? It is completely annoying to be in battle, switch weapon sets and end up with nothing in your hands while something is beating on you. This problem is compounded by even the smallest lag. No on screen indication of what is in your hands makes it worse, you can't see what's equipped in third person either most of the time. I want to try handwraps against oozes but there doesn't seem to be any graphics for them so if I put them in a weapon set I won't be able to tell if they are equipped or nothing is equipped.

And don't tell me to fill all the slots. I change what's in weapon sets too often and there are too many set slots. Not to mention you can't drag and drop them.

As far as I can tell right now the weapon set function is borked. If I am missing something or someone has a reasonable solution for any of this I'd like to know.

    1) eliminate the empty hands when switching weapon sets and put a disarm command in or at least give us the option to eliminate it
    2) put some graphics in for handwraps
    3) put a graphic window in so we can see what's in our hands
    4) make weapon set contents drag and drop so we can move them
    5) and while I'm wishing for stuff that will never happen, make equipped weapons stay in inventory so they don't lose their spot

    2) put some graphics in for handwraps Its already here
    3) put a graphic window in so we can see what's in our handsIts already there, in multiple ways. You can see it on your inventory panel and by the highlighting in your hotbar
    4) make weapon set contents drag and drop so we can move them you already can
    5) and while I'm wishing for stuff that will never happen, make equipped weapons stay in inventory so they don't lose their spotbeen asked for, but they recently redid inventory and they didn't go that way so I'll say it wont happen

Drag the weapon sets to your hot bar. Use mouse or Hot Key to select said slot. Not that the selected slot is Highlighted, indicating that weapon set is now active. For Handwraps, drag straight to hotbar as one Wrap covers both hands (meaning you don't need to put them in a weapon set to Two-Weapon with them). Repeat above steps.

Just to make sure there's no confusion, active items on hotbars that are "Highlighted" have four arrows facing inwards at the cardinal points...IE North, South East and West.

I think the OP is referring to the "cycle weapon sets" hotkeys that were introduced in Update 5. I've never used them, and can't really ever imagine using them, and I suspect noone else in the thread has used them.

So, OP, you're probably the only who has this issue because you're probably the only who actually cycles through their weapon sets. You're probably better off using hotbars like everyone else.

Yes, I have been cycling weapon sets instead of putting them on the hotbar. Haven't been using a hotbar for weapons, but will now. I use a gamepad and mouse (left hand) to play so I am limited to how many hotbar numbers I can access easily. Been using one hotbar and it's filled. Like all games, my personal interface will evolve but I've only been back a couple weeks, still plenty of room for improvement.

No, the weapon sets don't drag and drop from one weapon set spot to another. If you cycle through the weapon sets it goes to empty handed after the last filled one. Doesn't matter, will have to go to the hotbar.

I have a +2 handwrap, play in 1080P everything on high or higher (Alienware) and there is no graphic when it's equipped. Could be an artifact of my video card if other people have a graphic.

I played for a year, the first year of release. Just got back into the game so I am basically a newb again. Been playing MMO's longer than any of you people unless you were in the Ultima Online beta. Probably played more of em too. Played Asheron's Call for the first year of release as well as AC2 and the LOTR beta so I am familiar with Turbine. WoW isn't vastly more popular because it's a better game than Turbine games.

I think by the time I finished korthos on my first character, I already had four hotbars o_O I honestly don't see how ANY ONE can play with a single hot bar.

And yeah - I can't see how cycling would really help. What if you're using y our regular dps set, and you want to change to your banisher, but its at the end of your weapon sets? The elemental is gonna be dead before you get to the right weapon.

They meant handwraps have an icon like all weapons do (since they assumed you were placing the weapons on hotbars and can see from that which item is equipped). Handwraps do not show on your character's hands.

You could place all your weapon sets on an extra hotbar so you can visually see which is equipped, but still use the Cycle Weapon Set hotkey to switch between them.

heres some advice from someone who actually does use the cycle functions.

put them all in a hotbar anyway. they are in order going DOWN, so remember, fill the first slot, then the second one is below it, then you move over to the next tiny column. knowing this will eliminate many of your headaches. if you dont fill down you will have an empty set between every last weapon set. put all of your sets on a hotbar anywhere on the screen just so that you can see them all. remember to put them IN ORDER on your hotbar to save yourself confusion. still put two handed weapons in a set because otherwise you wont be able to cycle them. group your sets based on how likely you are to use certain ones in conjunction to one another. put your "go to" weapon as close to the middle of your cycle set as possible, and dont try to go "around" the circle, just go back and forth. this will eliminate headaches. having the sets all on that hotbar means that if you suddenly need a weapon fast and cant remember how many steps away it is you can just go click on it with your mouse. you can also see which one is equipped because there is a white indicator on the hotbar. Once youve got a good setup it becomes just a game of getting accustomed to where your sets are in the cycle. just always remember your cycle order is set in your inventory, so trying to mess with the order of your hotbars will just confuse the hell outta you.

I use a PS3 controller and cycle with L1 and R1, but i still grab the mouse sometimes.

Putting weapons on a hotbar also means that you don't have to hop through multiple weapon sets in order to get to the weapons that you want.

My melee characters have Alt+1, Alt+2, etc. keyed to a hotbar for different weapon sets. My spellcasting characters have Alt+1, Alt+2, etc for frequently used buffs with Alt+9 and Alt+0 saved for switching between two different weapon sets. Paladins and Rangers split that hotbar between weapon sets and a few common buffs.

Very short term buffs (Fighter haste boost and Kensai +8 Str boost, etc) or the most commonly cast spells/scrolls/pots/clickies go on the main hotbar for the regular keys 1-9+0.

Works pretty well so far, but I do need to make a few more hotkey links so that I can take Feather Falling gear off my character and only swap them in when I jump off of something. I expect to take a lot of falling damage for a week or two.
