Marvelous thread! Hahahah.
Hey, someone want to sell a guild to me?
While I am still shocked that this happened, it appears that it has and you are trying to do the right thing. My advice to you, is as follows:
1. Talk with your guild members, get to know them, get to know what they want out of a guild. You will need this information to help figure out who fits and who doesn't.
2. If you ever have to boot someone explain to them why, talk with them before you give them the boot.
3. Make sure you can trust every member of the guild, if you don't trust them or would not want them in your group then they are giving that type of impression to everyone else on the server about your guild.
4. While you want to take into account what everyone wants in the guild, remember you are in charge.
5. It is a game, have fun.
Good luck with your new guild.
Your complaint has been lodged, duly noted, and swiftly rejected.
Sometimes you just have to laugh, because everything else is illegal.
I can think of another reason that everyone in the Skylords guild might have been made an officer that no one seems to have mentioned - the bug with the small guild chests
This happened in my guild, we paid a small fortune to rent a small guild chest for a month on our airship so we could stock it with items for new members to use to equip their characters, low level stuff that was basically worthless to us but would have been very handy for new players/characters in the first few levels.
Upon instaling the chest we found that it could only be opened by officers of the guild which totally defeated the purpose of having it. In order to get around this bug and get some value for our money I made everyone in the guild an officer for the month that the chest was in place.
Because Turbine seemed to have no interest in fixing this bug we only kept the chest for the first month and when the lease was up and the chest vanished I demoted everyone back to their pre-chest rank.
This scenario might not apply in the case of Skylords but I wonder how many other guilds got around the chest bug in the same way?
Most all our Heroes are officers come time... there are plenty of reasons for this - It's just a game, It's thier guild, the trust should lay in their hands and so they are empowered relying on their maturity to make guild decisions. You should not treat have to treat your guild as though is full of pre-schoolers.

I'm not saying how anyone else should treat their guild, I was simply offering an explanation for why all the members of a guild might be officers other than to allow mass recruitment into the guild by any existing members, which was the only explanation which appeared to have been offered by previous posters in this thread.
When it comes to my own guild I do not treat anyone like a pre-schooler but at the end of the day its my guild and I'll treat the members any way I **** well like. If they didn't like it they'd leave.
True, but I'm just stating fact, There are a lot of reasons outside recruitment, guild chests etc... why one would use officership, most profound reason is trust and knowing these guildies are responsible. The and smaller the guild the more likely the case is a higher officer/member ratio, is usual because the leader plays with these people more often and sees them to be mature therefore empowers.

Oh well, even though the guild appears to be flourishing, and people really read the guild message of the day, there is no one absolutely no one that ever speaks on guild chat. As an example i was on around the same time prob 50-70 people were logging in/off and i say g' morning (no answers). Logged in with another toon 4 hours later, said good day (no answers)....no ever said anything on guild chat the 7 hours i was in,not even one....Any advices one that part? *feels very puzzled*

Hmmm.
Well, has only been a few days. Keep plugging away at it and see if you get some better responses as different poeple log in.
Worst case, you may have to accept you have a guild of soloist/casuals where everyone does their own thing, but still work towards mutual guild benefits for all.

Seen this problem before... as they're newer people its likely they don't have their party chat window set up so it also shows guild chat as an incoming text type. I would get them set up with that first... Type out how to do it in Guild chat, then send them a tell saying for them to "Check out Guild Chat".
Works good.![]()
