So equipping both (or wearing the Big Top with the Bunny Hat "over") gives +6 to UMD. And the Seven Fingered Gloves (+5 Competence) and the hat would give +8.
Ahhhh. That bit of info didn't click in my head. So thanks!

All those scrolls that should be for sale. Are not.

All the UMD items we DO have are the same buff so they don't stack.

Hell even our ship buff +1 to skills wont stack with vom or hogf either making it completely useless for 99% of the players.

At this point we're lucky umd works at all really.
I disagree - Turbine balances it, they don't hate it. It's fine the way it is. This game is easy enough - they don't need to make it any easier.

Commodity magic purchase is part of D&D and has been since the mid 70s. Run a "low magic campaign" in PnP, dont alter any of the mobs ailities whatsoever, and see how long a balanced group can survive. Its definately fun, right up to and until you roll up an encounter that you need some specific item(s) to beat. This usually happens sooner than later. The game design is balanced for this.

Default Notes on the bunny hat

The "secret" effect ("nothing up my sleeve") does not stack with the Cartouche, but gives most of the effect without having a ML.

If you have /showhelmet off and use the hat, you will still look like a bunny. There is a means to have the effect without looking like a bunny (I think it is /showhelmet on; use hat;/showhelmet off), but it takes some testing to get it to work (and you have to logout each time to test it).

/was disappointed about non-stacking (the hopping part stacks with everything). Couldn't complain about after getting the TP5 sale, though.

Think UMD is fine how it is, its something which makes bards really useful, atm i can push 60-64 UMD on my bard, possibly more if theres a feat (dont think there is)

UMD is one of those things that everyone wants but not everyone should have. Otherwise it makes all parties too uber, if everyone can raise and heal to a high level then clerics become another form of caster/buffer, if everyone can cast self buffs from scrolls and wands then even buffing isnt needed.

Really? After I posted a breakdown of someone who can hit a full 51 UMD as an OFF-CLASS skill with a starting CHA of 10? Ok, so you have no skill boost (you're not a human or a ranger, say). Then you an hit 46. Still no-failing just about everything of value, including Heal scrolls (by a full 7 points!). Don't want Yugo Pots or House D pots? Fine. You're still at 42, and no-failing. Don't have the Epic Big Top? Fine. You're STILL no-failing. It's hardly broken. Go get some gear. Or if you don't want to get gear and ship buffs, do something like splashing ROG for an extra +12. You have plenty of options.
