Oh it's certainly still handy at cap, I wear mine on my FvS as I have some nice evocation/necromancy bracers of haste, but it's not by any means uber past about level 13.

Anyway, congrats on the pull and good luck with the sale. Don't rush it and make sure you get a decent deal. This will make gearing yourself for leveling up a fair bit easier.

When the plat runs out and the gear is out leveled, you have nothing

When you realize what you had, and can never again get, you will regret it.

When you hit level 18+ and realize what you need, you'll be looking for a bargaining chip. This is a big one.

Like people have posted, plat is sort of worthless, a few days in the IQ can net you 100K pretty quick. You have something of VALUE! Wait till you know what you want / need before giving it up.

    Just my 2cp

2 Mil plat seems tempting, but in the long run its not worth it. All the basic gear you need is pretty easily gotten for free just by playing.

This. Knowing what I know now about the game, if this had happen to me, I would stick it in my bank until lv 17 or so then start looking for trades.

You might or might not stick with your current class, so gear you trade for might not be as useful to you. Money is overrated in DDO, gear no so.

If you trade for an end game item now, assuming you know what class you want, it might become outdated. Bloodstone rocks for pretty much every melee, but what if the next pack has a +7 seeker item on a ring with GFL? Bloodstones value will drop.

Play the game a bit, get to know what you want, and then bust this out to get what you want.

    GZ and nice pull OP!

I Really appreciated the advice you have all so willing given. My reason for getting rid of this item now, is that, so far, I don't really care for the spell casting classes, and I'm between jobs. Once i find another job my playing time will probably go down drastically. I may never see those happy TR's Again thank you all for being so kind to a noob such as myself. The auction should be starting in 15 min, happy bidding.

Plat is very valuable to a new player. Consumables are not cheap, and if they want to earn a good rep as they learn the game/meet people, being well stocked is invaluable. Intro DR breakers can be pricey as well.

Most of the other junk (firestorms, spectral, DoD, etc) is handy side gear, but not clutch. Most of the good stuff is bound, pre-epic. Ingreds for crafting is handy, but unless it's a radiance weapon for a rogue, it can probably wait for farming (its us plat capped lazy vets that pay the stupid prices).

No, plat is totally worth it for a new player.

2m is [retty much the opening bid for that, as you've seen: it's one of the best iouns. There's no "if" about what it's worth, put it up for auction here and you'll see.

And if anyone tells you something is worthless, yet makes an offer for it, i hope alarm bells are going off

That's exactly what you did The devs had an interesting idea for balancing out the economy for penniless noobs: put really good stuff in low level quests, first collectables (ALL crafting collectables can be found in low quests) and now iouns
