i've been looking and I don't see any builds that aren't better fits for other races
the only thing I can think is maybe 16/2/2 warchanter/ paladin dil for the saves but even that is reaching (vs human for really needed extra feat)

I like my Helf wiz/FVS dilettante quite a bit.
Same DCs as a human.
Heal and restorations scrolls etc.
He can Bluff/Intim/Diplo most mobs to control their movement well.
Very good for solo farming quickly.
BONGO FURY - Ghallanda - Thingfish - Wizard, Diuni - Ninja, Gheale - Angel, Dullknife - Tank, Noodlefish - Gimp, Jaquaby - Treacherous and other gimps.
Helfs make great monks
Arannel, Aqueous, Cocobolo, Arboreous, Erudirion, Congruous, and Cogs
Ghallanda Rerolled
Last night grouped with a helf AA. Easily led the kill count by at least 3x. I couldn't even get to the mobs in time they were dropping before my eyes. Granted, he was fully decked out in epic gear, but it was impressive. He went with the cleric dilettante for what he stated was a bonus to scroll heal spells without fail. I came away very impressed.
Half Elf is good if you like options, and in my not so humble opinion, one of the best for multi class toons.
Got a:
-Dark monk- rogue for 3d6 more SA
-light monk- cleric for 95% heal scrolls (and no fail rez as well as other buffs)
-wiz/sorc- cleric/fvs for heals
-fvs/sorc- bard fascinate (i have seen someone with this)
-pure classes like bard WC/cleric/fvs- fighter for martial weapons
And plenty more I'm sure.
+3d6 SA makes for second best melee after HOrc.
HOrc is so ridiculously good though that it's crazy to roll anything else
this is an awsome helf build

Dilettante really opens a lot of interesting doors.
+Con and toughness enhancements on classes that don't normally get them. (Barb)
+Healing amp and +Wis to AC on non-lawful builds. (Monk) Heck, I took this on my Ftr1/Clr19 just for the extra healing amp--I'll not likely be centered at any point in the character's career.
+Cha to saves on other non-lawful builds. (Pally) As you said, works on any Warchanter build.
+Sneak attack on pretty much anything that attacks stuff is awesome. 6d6 sneak attack on a Ninja Spy II without any rogue levels is fancy, too.
I'm of the opinion that it made the full elf 100% obsolete.
They make good Paladins with the FvS dili they don't even have to splash wisdom for nearly no-fail heal scrolls. Reliable enough for me, plus the human healing amp, plus the extra toughness.
Well you were looking for them to be on sale gotta say something
I've been having really good results with my Helf Cleric w/ Fighter Dilettante (see sig) - he can use any martial melee weapon without having to splash fighter. He's not intended to be a "Battle" Cleric, I just wanted a cleric who could stay pure but still use Falchions/Greataxes/Greatswords without penalty.
