I had a guildy pull two pairs of spectral gloves on one run. I didn't speak to him for a week.

It is always better to be lucky than good.

When they are both lucky and good....you can only be proud for them.

A guildie who has been playing since beta and making weekly bloodstone runs only got his first bloodstone a few weeks ago. I admire his stoicism. If I were in his shoes, I'd probably have most of Turbine's staff chained in a dungeon by now.

    ROFL

    This brightened up my day.

I've pulled 2 of them in several hundred runs. I usually do it 3-4x a week for the past 3 years or so.

I've pulled them both times on the 1st-2nd run of the week out of the mephit chest (after ransack reset)

I think after a few times the loot level goes down, you'll pull nothing but junk and you don't have a shot.

More than 10x in a given 7 day period is definitely a waste of time.

I've also pulled a spell storing ring, but just one. I do this farming on my wizard. I can usually get each run done within 5 minutes.

The drop rate is silly low on bloodstones. Keep on truckin you'll get one eventually. I need 3 more of them lol. I don't anticipate that happening in this lifetime.

I would LOVE to get my kids to some farming for me. Last time I let them play my account, they "dropped" a few items. I was not amused, and the buyback time was gone when I figured it out.

So I got them their own accounts. The BEST they have done is level 7. I wish they would stick to a character long enough to actually be able to farm for me. But, they are amusing to travel with (yes, I keep them in guild only, no worries about pugging with them) and good for a laugh or two.

So how do I keep them on one character???

600+ runs on my cleric over 4+ years = 0 bloodstones
200+ runs on other toons = 1 bloodstone

at this point it's not even about the stupid bloodstone... it's become an obsession. I could surface the deck of our guild airship with dusk hearts......

My experience is you don't, or you can't. Children (mine are 9, 12, and 14) are natural alto-holics. They get bored easily, want to try something new, and just like to play around. They aren't concerned about end game or grinding, and I think that's a good thing. If they like to play, just let them play. Offer some advice, and try and encourage them to play quests they haven't yet. Eventually, they will find that character they really like and level them past 6th or 7th.

THEN you can make slave labored grinders out of them. You want dinner? Where is my bloodstone?

I love it. I do not hinder them, they are learning the game and they do have characters to play with me when the urge hits (sadly, not too often - my boys are 7 and 9 and can be challenging at times, especially after a long day of posting in the forums (*coughworkcough*)).

That's right, which only made it worse that she was able to get this at level 7. One of her friends has a level 8 wizard and another has a level 10 favored soul.

Of course, the skill that keeps her as a level 7 cleric alive in the desert comes from me. Her amazing luck at nabbing something that is way out of her league comes from her mother

    Talking I know the hurt

Took me a year to pull my first Bloodstone. Then a couple months after that my youngest daughter started to play.(Yea I,m old too anyways) She rolled a couple of toons up & her main was at the time 2f/11barb & she asked me to show her the loot run loop I run in the Desert. Yea no prob I thought it was a good time to get some DDO time in. So we hook up in party & I tell her I would meet up with her I need to grab a axe from the bank. She had know clue how to get there (I was shocked) Anywho we jump in go right to the 1st Bloodstone chest & it pops and she screamed in my ear the Flippin thing was there. ONLY a week later she asks if I could help knock out her undead slayer out there,So where out LOL having a good time. We get to the Zombie ring chest & Pop goes the ring for her & I was just sick.....

You know there ARE sweatshops in China doing that?
