I was shaking at the keys the whole time and I think I soiled my armor!




Tupe (Our ranger and noob killer) killed us all from part 4 to part 5. We made him do it, but I think some secret part of him enjoyed it! Those 12 required deaths were the only ones we would have by the way! What a great run!

OMG! We so rocked it. First time in The Shroud parts 4 and 5 for maybe half the people in our party. That was such a blast! Sweaty palms for sure after that battle with the Pit Fiend. Well, whew, it only took us five years of playing permadeath to get there, but we just completed The Shroud for the first time.

Awesome achievement... I was wondering how the "death" between parts 4 and 5 counts against Permadeath... does it count at all, since you don't even require players to revive you.. the game does... In my opinion that shouldn't break any rules, or does it?

Its part of the plot-fu of the quest. The Shroud kills everyone to bring them over to the other plane then revives everyone once there.

Running a quest with the intended plot events in place never breaks the rules.

This was about as far out of peoples comfort zones I have seen people pulled in a long time. It was clearly understood by all that if people died in part 4, and we could not beat Harry, that those people would be un-rescue-able. Some of those toons in there are 2+ years old.

Man, that almost makes me wanna roll up a permadeath toon and run shroud!!

Having lost characters in other orpg games to perma death I know how insanely fun/scary/exciting/terrifying this must have been all at once

I have to say out of everything I've seen or heard done in game over the years or on this board this is by far the most impressive.

I don't play PD myself....but I do like the idea of it cause it reminds me of what DnD was really like when I played tabletop all those years ago. I know what it's like to lose a beloved character .
