You're planning on choosing between the Abishai set and the Claw Gloves? What bracers are you wearing? The Scorched Bracers aren't all that spectacular, but they're a way to fit in both the Abishai and claw sets at the same time, and give you a blue slot.

The Gem of Many Facets only counts as one piece of each set, as unintuitive as that is. When you read the description for each set it says something like, "This pair of bracers..." For the Claw set it acts as the bracers, so you need the gloves to complete the set with the Gem.

This is good for people who want to equip only one of them, as the gloves are much better than the bracers, but sucks if you want the Charged Gauntlets, since you can't have both.

How long does it take roughly to get one epic item? Are some epic items much more harder to get than others?

It is all about luck and who you run with.

I have been trying to get the seal for the Epic Chimiras fang since the update hit. No luck. I ran it once to two times a week for a month...then one time a week...now once every couple weeks. And that isn't even a hard one to get.

One of the most common raid items to make is epic stormmelds plate. You could get that done in about 3-5 runs if people give you the items. An epic SoS.....you might as well start praying and loading your dice for when those items come up for roll....but good luck even having the person who gets them to put them up for roll. I know 1 for sure in my guild...maybe 2. You have to grind and grind and grind away.

Obviously your end game gear will change as you acquire the ideal items. You might want to aim for some epic gear from one of the newer epic areas because the loot table is smaller even though you might really ideally want some epic sands or Von gear.

Some respectable end game items you might want that isn't epic that you can aquire quickly could be some of the following:
-Dragon Touch armor
-gloves,ring AND the helm from the new Lordsmarch quests (upgraded that is). These 3 items will give you +6 cha/str/wis, true seeing, +2 to hit and damage, +40% to your cure serious spell, and some intimidate
-gfl +6 con belts from Amrath
- misc. Clickies for jump, sp etc

You left when the cap was 16 right? That's really all new non raid items that's post shroud you might want.
