Default Is the Holy Sword spell still effective?

Haven't played since L16. Farming took an insane amount of time, so I was just using the holy sword spell. Not the greatest weapon, but cheapest.

For L20 now, is the Holy Sword spell still a viable weapon?

I still use it a lot on my paladin/monk for tanking Horoth on hard/elite and Shroud on hard/elite as I don't feel like spending the larges to make another mineral II item.

The Holy sword weapons are potent enough, a paladin never need to make a min II weapon.

Unless they use 2 handed fighting weapons and want to use a greataxe or a falchion. There is a very significant difference in dps using different weapons depending on the specific build and race.

Thanks for the info. As a khopesh user, I'll just stick with the spell for now. Save the green steel material for other characters who need it more.

Yea, unless you have alot of larges it's generally worth it to use holy swords.

If it comes to it and you're gonna craft, consider making lit II or earthgrab though, and not min II.

    Sure. it works just fine.

But at some point you're just wasting money. Add up how much cash you burn over a month making your pally weapon every day.

As a first 'good' weapon and as a backup weapon for say epics they're real nice. Who cares if you break your holy sword on crateos.. But relying on it as your ONLY weapon will cost you alot of cash. And at some point that insanely overpriced metalline/puregood weapon on the ah... Becomes the better deal by far.

150 plat per day or 300 if you use 2. So max 9000 plat per month, or 108K per year. Since the holy sword is +5, I'm guessing approximately 25 years to reach the amount for 2 +5 metalline Khops of pure good (at least on Ghallanda, and lowballing the khops at 1.5 mil per).

I hardly think you should factor the cost in your decision making....

Also keep in mind that if you plan on crafting epic weapons a pure paladin can easily bypass dr with epic weapons. Min II isn't a bad choice but it shouldn't be at the top of your list for weapons to craft.

A greataxe would be best for auto-crit situations, whereas a Falchion is better DPS against anything that isn't auto-crit. So I'd say make a Lit 2 Greataxe, and a Mineral 2 Falchion if you're going that route.

I hate the spell due to the non-stacking components. So I actually made min2s for my pally. But that's just me, noone ever accused me of being clever

I don't see the point of a min II item on paladin at all. A complete waste of larges...a lot of them at that. The marginal increase in DPS simply isn't worth it. Just buy a nice holyburst silver/metalline of maiming or geob.
