Default Wich are the most desired docents?

    Hi! =)

I am new with the WF, and would like to know wich docents are the most desired by WF players in DDO. Now I am playing with a WF Wizard and they said that the Tarnished Blademark's Docent are the best for low and mid levels... Is this true?

Wich others docents are good and i need to look for them?

well, the upgraded version of the tarnished one is nice, yeah its +3 lifeshield & 5/magic DR with ML5 - pretty nifty effects & looks cool too, especially with adamantine body.

The gorgon docent from the lordsmarch plaza quest line is very nice too (drops in the eyes of stone quest fairly often in the locked chest behind the hidden doors in the lower offices), as it grants +4 CON & has a chance of proccing stoneskin on you if you get hit.

Those are 2 good ones for general use.. others will depend a lot on your class - for casters the blue dragonscale docent (or elfcrafted docent for a cheaper option iirc) give arcane lore, which will add a crit chance to any spell type that stacks with enhancements, and also allows stuff like bladebarriers, disintegration etc. a chance to crit. For melees, the docent of defiance & docent of quickening are both very nice but rare & very expensive in the AH.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was, now what's it is weird and scary to me.

The docent from Mindsunder is good - especially if upgraded in Dreaming Dark.

Upgraded, you get Superior False Life and Toughness

I find I use the following docents a lot through various characters:

    Morleth's Docent
    Bladesmark Docent
    Gorgon Docent
    Titanic Docent
    Dragontouched Docent
    Server - Thelanis

For most sought after docent I would have to say DoD. Even as a caster a DoD is a good thing to have.

For general leveling (post lvl 14ish) you should probably get a DT docent with whatever you want on it.

A DoD is an excellent item, but some people have issues with the speed reduction when it procs. if you are tanking a boss, no big deal, if you are trying to move between mobs it sucks (the DR is still awesome though).

The Blademark's Docent is a solid choice for quite a while as well, but it is not *uber*.

I was kinda partial to the White Dragon Scale Docent, but I may just be weird.

At lvl 20 I vary between using an un-suppressed Quorforged Docent, Epic Blademark Docent, Epic Docent of Grace. (To be honest, the Docent of Grace is only useful for the immunity to slippery surfaces... and how often do you really need that?) I put Toughness in the blue slot of the Bladesmark and I like it.

I am still a little torn though... the Quorforged is Toughness/Superior False Life (the +6 CON does not count, IMO) and the eBladesmark is DR 5/epic, lifeshield and Toughness. So I have to wear a GFL item (Knost's Belt currently) and lose 10 hp. Or I use the Quorforged and lose the DR 5/epic. It keeps me up at night.

I'm wearing the Bladesmark Docent on my level 6 TR'd Wizard and I actually took the Repair spells OUT of my memorized spell list.

    It's just that good.

I have to chug an occasional Repair Medium potion, but I bought a stack of 100 right when I turned 5 and I'm still at 70 potions left with just a handfull of XP left before I hit 7.

I wore it for a while when I was a level 10-14 FvS because I don't always remember to use my Ardor clickies.

Why is that? I've always wondered. It doesn't have anything on it that you can't get with simple House P favor.

    Please explain.

on my current life on my warforged wizzy, I am using a gorgon docent from the new quest series. I love the thing, makes it really convenient to not have to cast stoneskin on myself. bladesmark docent is another decent one to go for, as well as the dragontouched docent at lvl 16. I wouldn't recommend going after a docent of defiance, they are extremely expensive, and farming one yourself is a big pain (it's rare and cursed crypt can be annoying to solo). That, and the defiance proc cripples your movement, not really worth the exchange in DR unless your in red DA surrounded by mobs, in which case who cares about the slow movement .

    -gorgon docent
    -bladesmark docent
    -dragontouched docent

the valuable part of the docent of defiance is the hidden effect that proc's defiance on you. defiance gives you DR 20/- with the side effect of crippling (slowing you down significantly)

although the dr 20/- is pretty significant, I honestly don't think it's worth the crippling side effect while your running through dungeons - although it is still a great defensive maneuver.

The hidden effect is what people like about DoD. When it procs you get DR20 (pretty sure), but it slows your movement by 50% or something.

Here it is as per the loot thread....

Docent of Defiance - (Docent) +4 Docent, Improved Fire Resistance, Improved Lightning Resistance, Improved Cold Resistance <<Hidden Efffect: Randomy crippled & DR 20/->>

on my battlesorcerer i use 2 docents :

    - dt docent with +5 resistance / Corrosive Salt Guard / Destruction
    - docent of defiance

i am pretty much geared with these 2 ones, i generally use the dt docent and when i fight a boss i switch to docent of defiance since generally these fights are static and so you don't mind to not be able to move
