Cool Please implement the AGING system!

Dev's! seeing as there are certain pro's and con's about implementing this...but most races are being
undervalued and some overpowered because of this is lacking...

For example: why do you see alot of humans and h/orcs around..(don't get me wrong i don't hate 'em ) because they don't age.. they don't get the aging penalty that the P&P offers...(which helps balancing the races...) which in turn lets people make them the more logical choice... if so implemented, the solution leaves them that if they want to maintain their current strength.. reincarnate...

elves on the otherhand and other long lived races would be much appreciated for their longer lifespan.. as it should be... (cuz right now... go figure..)

    just a thought... smile! ^_^

i dont see enforced reincarnation ever happening, although my dwarf already looks like he's wearing the +3 incontinence underpants that would appear in the store.

Yes, I'm sure that's why we see so many other races besides Elves....

I have played a campaign where age was a factor, it was specifically set up so we could RP our children and grandchildren, but my human wizard cheated anyway. He used the wish spell to give him a druids ageless body, forget the name atm, so I got to get all the benefits of increased mental stats with no negative physical stats . Ah I love thee wish spell.

really? You got a wish that did what you wanted? Your DM must have been very stupid or very nice. If I were the DM and you wished for a Druid's body guess what would have appeared at your feet? Or if you worded it a little better you would have gotten a Druid body but with Druid Stats as well. Yeah a wish should NEVER come out exactly like the wisher wants it too!

/not signed - with *maybe* one exception.

Allowing players to pick starting age tier at character's creation, to further tweak stats.
Younger for melees, older for casters.

It would be a further min/max factor and add some extra flavour.

    ...

Funny thing is, implemented straight it could cripple elves and drow...

yes! but I was a wizard then.. so aging helped..

as old age grants (70+ for humans) -3str/dex/con +3 int/wizs/cha

DDO is aspiring to be true to it's roots so why not..

let's say 1 year in DDO would be 1 month IRL? (so to start... )

Incorrect, there are 3 tiers of aging in 3.5

    the 1st tier (Middle Age) is -1 str/dex/con and +1 int/wis/cha
    the 2nd tier (Old) is -2 str/dex/con and +1 int/wis/cha
    the 3rd tier (Venerable) is -3 str/dex/con and +1int/wis/cha

stat changes are cumulative, so by Venerable you have a total of -6 str/dex/con and +3 int/wis/cha

    {p.109, directly under table 6-4, D&D Core 3.5: "The effects of each aging step are cumulative. However, none of a character's ability scores can be reduced below 1 in this way."}

I would immediately stop playing and Turbine would get no money from me. It would be a step 5 miles backwards from where they went when they decided to go F2P.

Does it matter if the toon will live longer than the people who play them.

then let the dev's make a hybernate or eternal sleep option that way your char doesn't age...just wake them up if your up to playing again.. and for other who would wish to age their characters, keep em on..
