In amongst the thread on adding Kobolds I did make this suggestion, but it got lost in whether or not you should be able to play Monsters or not, so I would like to repeat my suggestion for a solution to the problem.
Over in Turbine's Lord of the Rings Online there is a version of the Game called Monster Play, where Players can either play Heroes or Monsters in multiplayer PVP, thus allowing Players to compete with each other and play as Monsters in a version of the Game.
I believe this would be a good idea over here in DDO, allowing those who wish to play Monsters play Monsters, allow those who enjoy PVP to PVP and possible increase the number of people who take part in PVP, by letting them fight against the Monster (or maybe it's the not been able to play a Monster that has put you off PVP) and if it is separate like on LOTRO people will get their chance to be Monsters, without forcing those who don't wish to Quest alongside Monsters to Quest alongside Monsters.
As you may or may not know on LOTRO Monster Play is for VIP Players only, but I believe that is to keep the versions of the game entirely separate, but other here since clearly a number of PNP D&D Players have in the past played Monster Races in PNP Games, there would be grounds to introduce this mode to all Players, not just VIP ones.
So I suggest to Turbine the addition of Monster Play to DDO.
