    Arrow Repairing Items?

    Okay just /sign which ones you like and /notsign the ones you don't like. ^____^

    Note: I know the Adamantine Ritual exists and I've used it but these are just further improvement ideas.

    Suggestion 1:
    Buy items for some ritual to repair "permanent" damaged items.

    Suggestion 2:
    Repair skill to remove a bit of damage when using a Rest Shrine. (except perma-damage)

    Suggestion 3:
    Make Repair Kits to buy and use on your items when in quests to help prevent perma-damage.

    As an alternate suggestion, perhaps the repairs skill can work like haggle, but only for repairing at vendors.

    EDIT: Just thought of something: Suggestion 2 could possibly be abused by high level characters with high repair skills by going to shrines in lowbie quests and explorer areas to repair for free.

    I think most high levels are too lazy to do that and have enough plat anyway.

    I'm thinking about dragon scale armor that is very difficult/expensive to repair. If I thought of it, someone will find an area to easily hit 4-5 shrines in under 5 minutes. There are players out there that will squeeze every copper piece.

    Just sayin'.

    I really want to repair three candy canes and two potions of wonder that broke while i was blocking and apparently can never be repaired.

    The Repair and heal skill both need some use outside of shrines and 'recovering from the small window of 0 to -9 hp.

    1 maybe if the technical issue is solved.

    2 and 3 - not signed, there is a valid reason for some "toons" to have a high repair skill

    Let's try suggestions that simply apply to all characters, not just wf/sor/wiz

    Oh okay. Let's get rid of Haggle and UMD then too.

    No need for bards to have that when everyone else has to collect gear for it.

    Change the repair skill to a chance of less damage (and by extension permanent damage) during a quest. Change the enhancements that lessen item damage to bonuses on your "repair" roll to see if an item is damaged.

    It makes sense that if you have a high repair you should be able to pull out a whetstone and sharpen your blade after a fight etc...

    *Note I am not suggesting an animation for sharpening your sword, repairing armour etc... That is just for flavour of the suggestion. Make the chance of an item damage based on your repair skill.

    I like #2. Maybe have it remove 1 point of damage per 5 points of repair skill, rounded up. No damage removed if skill is negative or 0. That way, it ends up not really being significant enough to be an exploit but still something for long quests. A reason for my monk to actually use a rest shrine would be nice.

    Now now Hax, I was referring to your subset, which only your subset would benefit from. Removing Haggle and UMD is an absurd response to your suggestion. You are baiting here.....

    If you truely want to submit "honest" suggestions, you have to take the legitimate criticism associated with it. You have gone outside the "OP".

    It's simply not comparable.

    Bards need gear for it also. 8 starting CHA melee bards have just as a hard a time, if not more, as other classes.

    Suggestion 3:
    Make Repair Kits to buy and use on your items when in quests to help prevent perma-damage./notsigned. Use the ritual if you're concerned about an item that you want to keep. But if you want to pass it off down the line, just let it take its' lumps and head to a vendor to repair when you're done.

    Realistically, the Repair skill is just worthless. Warforged auto-stabilize when they go below 0. So attempting to 'stabilize' a wf is just stupid. The skill may need something to make it useful, but I don't think item repair is the use it should be given.

    What about Rogues? They have access to UMD and Haggle. Why aren't you calling for them to be nerfed along with the Bards?

    Repairing permanent damage could be a good plat sink if made expencive enough. Scale it with item level and make it pricey enough that people will really have to think if a given item is worth investing in.

    Not skills, there is a enhancment line for some of the melee classes (all the melee classes?) to reduce damage taken on items
