Had this a lot recently as well. Similar, at least. People claiming to have once been a part of Eternal Wrath, or saying that someone told them to come to me regarding recruiting. I'll pop their name into guild chat, and 4-5 other people will say they've received tells from them in the past few minutes.

Yeah, but that's probably because Eternal Wrath is a guild people want to get into. I think this guy just wanted me to play healbot.

to be fair, that's not implausible at all. eternal wrath kinda *did* go on a huge recruiting binge with no particular entry requirements that i could tell at one point, no?

Yes ew grew quickly at one point, but afaik it wasnt due to mass recruiting, but more about a few different guilds that got "absorbed" in a fairly short period of time. But this was like quite a while ago now and really doesnt reflect the guild as it stands now.

odd. i distinctly recall for several weeks there were usually LFMs that were simply EW recruiting pretty much anything that moves. maybe it was just a guild with a similar name though.

Yes, it must have been. That, or LFMs for people asking to join EW. Either way, not right.

Quite often there will be LFM's posted "EW". This is done to assist in grouping Guild raids.
I can not remember a time when Eternal Wrath has been an open recruit guild.

There is another guild on Sarlona with the intials "EW" - I was once a member - that did some mass recruiting via chat channels and sending out blind invites through in-game mail. I haven't seen any of those posts in a while; come to think of it, I rarely see anyone from that guild.
