    Default Money in the bank

It is, as many know, a royal pain in the butt to transfer large amounts of plat to another toon. Not that I have large amounts recently mind you, but, still, in days gone long past, when I had toons with a million plus plat, its a stupidly long process to send even ten percent of that amount when the most you can mail is what? About 12k? I can't think of any good reason why a shared bank can't be used to deposit money as well as items. Imagine that, deposting MONEY into a BANK?!?!

I'd imagine it would be much easier for them to just increase the limit of the plat we can mail since mail is setup for coin transfer already.

That way the people without shared banks could take advantage as well.

The easiest way to implement that is to increase the amount of money that can be mailed in game.
They could easily move the plat numbers to at least 6 or 8 numbers rather than the 4 that they have now

Yeah, and another thing that'd help those without a shared bank would be to increase the number of items you can attach in a mail. I try not to remember how annoying that was before I got shared bank.

Previous discussions have implied this is actually a limiter on plat farmers etc. Also dont forget that the current limits prevent items on AH costing more than 4m pp - (not sure if that is good or bad but I guess warrants a thread on its own!!).

For me personally, I rarely use the AH so find my pp builds up rapidly (15 capped alts). However I have two accounts with my second account largely used for storage so this provides additional places to keep excess plat.

I'd rather have the plat farmers back, and be able to mail platinum (or shared-bank transfer it), than the current situation.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

I dont see how the current system limits plat farmers. All they do is swap the coin person to person.

Allowing coin in a shared bank will have ZERO effect on plat farmers and will add an extra incentive for players to buy the shared bank.

I dont really know to what extent the plat farmers are still around. The DDO store seems to have made a lot of what they provide redundant.

I am guessing, but I suspect the main people buying plat in-game are probably new-ish players wanting to get geared up quickly. Last time I looked at some of the plat farmer websites, there seems to be little on there of any interest to veteran players. My experience is that plat is easy enough to get, but with thought (i.e. haggle/GH and the right vendors) we could probably all make even more!

To original OP - use guildies. One advantage of a (good!) guild is that if you dont have two accounts, ask a guildie to help transfer the money for you. Just a word of warning is dont use people who just joined the guild to do this!

I'd rather use the shared bank to transfer plat they could make it a feature of the shared bank II or III add on.

This wouldnt necersaritly negate the plat farmers but it would mean they have to invest real moneyt in DDO to get the shared bank utility.

and it would be another perk for VIP, which if we're fair is where Turbine want us all to go anyway

To be honest, it sound perfectly logical to me to leave money at the bank. Actually, when I started playing, I spent some time trying to figure out how to do this. Transferring money with the shared account would be great.

And no, I'm not going to say House K should give you interest, even if a real world banking system would be interesting to see.

Here is a quick Fix that works with Eberron lore:

House Sivis (the gnome house) with the mark of scribing can create "Bank Notes" using their arcane mark ability

Create the following three (non-stackable) items
    BankNote1 with a value of 10,000 platinum.
    BankNote2 with a value of 100,000 platinum.
    BankNote3 with a value of 1,000,000 platinum.

the notes can be flagged as no mail, no auction and trade only (i.e. from person to person).

Add a vendor (dwarf or gnome) in the Kundarark bank (and possibly the lordsmarch bank also)
This vendor will buy and sell these BankNotes at a fixed price, he is unaffected by haggle. He sells at +0.25% and buys at -0.25%)

This is in keeping with the lore, points to adding gnomes at a future date, provides convenience and should be pretty easy to do.

Wow. Instead of just saying, "Fix it Turbine!" someone actually offered a solution . A reasonable "goes with the lore" solution as well. Well said sir.

I'll "/signed" this, but ya, it does need it's own thread. +1 for you!
