    Default Enchantment Focused Wiz Rogue?

Can someone point me in the direction of some good builds for this type of set up? I have some planned out on my character planner, but I have never played a Wiz, so I would like to get a good idea of what I should be looking for.

And before someone says it... Yes, I know if I go Pure that my DCs will be better and I know what the capstone is. I don't plan on doing epics or staying at 20 for very long at all.

This is for a Bard toon that will be on her 3rd lifetime. I'm in it for the past life feat and just want to have fun on my way to twenty.

Also, if the build could not be warforged, that would be Aweee-some!

    Thanks!

I have a friend who's done this....I didnt think it'd be too bad at all, since he wanted to do traps and he does just fine on them...but he whines about it *constantly* being sub-par DC's. He's got the same necromancy DC as me >.> but complains he has a tough time doing shroud. My enchants are higher but he also doesn't have mass hold yet, nor does he use many of the others...

    F2P Arcane Trickster

I'd bump your Con up to 16, your Str up to 14, and your Cha up to 12 with the 36pt build.

I am currently working on this similar build - (WASOB will be 18 wiz/2 rogue - 32 pt)

I am working from an older charactor of mine and the race I choose then was elf. Starting now I would consider the half-elf - cleric feat looks good ... I have spent points on UMD to be able to do selfing healing.

I am planning on a major spell focus of Enchantment with a minor of envocation.

For DC's... Highten is a must for this build.

    INT 18 base + 5 lv up + 3 eh + 2 tome + 6 item + 3 shroud = 37 INT => +13 modifier.

With Spell focus and Greater Spell focus + 2 DC

ArchMage Spell Master I and II + 2 DC

With Napkin (Reaver Raid) + 1 DC

For Mass Hold (or other enchantment spells -- envocation spells being one less)

    10 + Spell Level + Casting Stat Modifier + Items + Feats + Ehs = DC

    10 + 9 + 13 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 37 DC

If I can find a +3 Int tome - that would be a 38 DC.

That should be reasonable for most stuff and be "resonable" in epic.

I will see if I can post the build later...

Not going warforged, you sacrifice self-repair and some of the potential solo-ability of the build. But, it sounds like you aren't too concerned with that. The only thing I'll suggest is to consider taking the rogue levels at 4 and 11. Taking the first at level 1 does give you a ton of skill points to throw around, but you're stuck only putting 4 in any one skill. Waiting until 4, you have a skill-up and +1 tome at level 3 to increase your available skill points and can put them all towards individual rogue skills. The second level is a bit more arbitrary. I suggest 11 primarily because you'll want both evasion and a reasonable number of lvl 3 and 4 spell slots for gianthold. Using this approach, you can have concentration, search, disable device, and open lock (or umd) maxed with points to spare for whatever floats your boat.

    Thanks for the input guys!

I was a bit worried about the DCs since thats the warning I usually keep getting from people when I mention wanting to go Wizrogue Enchanter.

I was planning on my own builds to go Helf Cleric Dil for the self heals for those 'in case' moments. I will be running a lot with a Paladin WF Intimi... so, there will still be some healing there and another friend of ours is planning on probably running a WF FvS, so should be okay in that department.

With your breakdown, Propane, I agree that the DCs should be good enough to keep me from cursing at the screen everytime I throw a spell. >.< I have a +3 tome all ready for the TR so, that should help too. Haven't gotten my hands on the Napkin though, but it is on my list of must haves.

Well if you plan on Tring again , you should save +3 and +4 you may get for your 'final tr.' But +2's go crazy and use them hehe.

For the race chooses, elf may not be the best, but I had a one on the shelf from a lot time ago and didn't want to totally re-roll...

I am LV 17 now here is where I am headed....
The UMD will be usefull as well. I do like the helf for the saves - If I were were to start from scratch - that is were I would start

I will have more +3's than I will ever need by the time I do my last TR on this toon. So, a +3 Int tome in this life will cause me no distress later. >.< This toon has a few more lifetimes left even after this. I plan on probably going Bard - Arcane Archer as a last lifetime, so, I've got a few rounds of Wizard, Bard, Barbarian, Paladin, and Ranger to go.

I wanted to go Helf so I wouldnt have to worry about UMD. I will have access to Heal scrolls at the appropriate levels and wont have to waste my skill points just to get self healing, which means I can get an awesome Search, Disable, Spot, Open Lock, Jump, and Dimplomacy and skip over UMD entirely.
