    Default Question about Destruction Spell

Today's Noobish question is brough to you by me.

Now that I've been playing for ooooh say 18 months, just long enough to not look completely inept in most quests/ raids I've decided to (in specific) places fine ways to tweak my game even more. Today's tweak the Cleric/ FvS lvl 7 spell - Destruction

On my lvl 15 FvS it says Fortitude save (23) (due to my my Wisdom being base 22 = 14+2 inherent (+2 tome) + 6 item) What else can I do to raise this number higher? It's just not hitting enough in Vale Quests (normal). Does my level affect this as well?

I've never been much of a number cruncher in DDO, but lately I've been trying to do this on all my toons, to up my game just a little bit.

Advice please and thanks in advance?

Heighten would bump it up by two, and first hit them with an Energy Drain so their saves suffer.

wouldn't Heighten only bump it by two if I was able to cast lvl 9 spells.. im lvl 15 FvS so lvl 7 spells is as high as I can go for now. Can 't energy drain for a while until I can cast lvl 9's.

    Anything else to bump this?

Is there ways to raise my DC with items to bring this to like 30+?

Necromancy focus item would give +1. Greater Necromancy Focus is hard to find, but would give +2.
You could take Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus (probably not worth it)

Your WIS is pretty low, however. Without maxing it, leveling it, and spending enhancement points on it, you aren't going to get high DCs.

Offensive spell casting takes a lot of focus, and it looks like you're not focusing on it.

You can get +1 from a Necromancy focus item. These appear on some randomly dropped bracers and a few named items, such as Mentau's Goggles, Spectacles of Spirit Sight, and the Pall of Blood robe.

There are a few items with +2 (Greater Necromancy Focus) but they are epic items (Epic Spectacles of Spirit Sight), event items (Mabar robes/docents), level 18+ upgraded items (upgraded Death's Touch), or Abbot raid items (Staff of the Petitioner). For a first character, these are not obtainable yet.

There is also the Stormreaver's Napkin cloak, which gives you a +1 to all your spell's saves. It will not, however, stack with a specific focus item.

Unfortunately, with your low base wisdom, you won't have much success with Destruction, Implosion, or other DC based spells in higher level content.

I see, yes you're absolutely right, I wasn't really focusing on it, this being my first FvS toon. She's really very Healing Specced, but wanted to expand my role a bit as I moved into the last few levels. Thanks for the tips!

You must choose to either cast or fight.
If you choose to cast, you take 18 wis and every level up goes into wis.
If you choose to fight, wis is dumped.

Half way, in the end, doesn't get you to where you want to go.

Edit - There's no such thing as "healing specced".
All a fvs needs to heal raids is enough charisma to be able to cast mass heal, and with enhancements and a tome they can leave it at 8 and still aptly heal raids when needed.
Fvs get so few bonus sp compared to their base sp it's not worth any points beyond that.
Cha damage and Quell will hurt though, many up it to 12.
Beyond that though, and jeez - you just lost half your character.

By that I assume you max'd CHA? That is a mistake, in my opinion. The benefits of high WIS far outweigh the measly SP you'll get from higher CHA.

Start with a 10, eat a +2 tome, take +2 enhancements, put on a +6 item, and that's all you need in CHA. If you're paranoid about Disjunction, maybe start with 12 so you can still cast Heal.

Pure Healer, with nothing else to offer, is a waste of a character. Either focus on STR for melee damage, or focus on WIS for offensive casting.
