When I am playing DDO, there is enough room for 28 buff timers to be displayed across the top of my monitor. Currently there are 14 buffs on my guildship that I find worth using. That leaves 14 slots that are easily filled by regular buffs.
Normally, I never cared about seeing what buffs were overall displayed, as long as I have the proper situational buffs. The more, the merrier. In fact before guild buffs came along it was always amusing to see the bar so full it fell off the end of the screen.
My problem stems from this: I am now playing a DPS Paladin. (I know, total gimp sauce!) Whenever I'm using my short term damage boosting buffs (Zeal, Divine Might) they are almost always past the point of no return for timer displays. Basically, I never know when they run out and am always either rebuffing far to frequently or completely forgetting about them.
Possible solutions:
Continue the buffs onto a second row once the first row is exceeded. Now, this is probably a poor choice because most of us won't want the buff displays to begin to overtake our entire screen.
The solution that I personally would like to see: Reorder the buff display based on time remaining, the shortest timer remaining on the right, the longest ones shoved off the edge of the screen on the left. Great! Now I know that it's time to recast my one minute Divine Might, and still don't worry about the fact that I have 45 minutes left on my 14 guild buffs!
So, in closing...
... Please? ^_^
