    Default People making Eric mad

Please stop. He just takes it out on Beergirl. Then she puts a hurting on him. It is like he loses twice. How much can a man take, I ask you?

Not everyone would necessarily view this as a loss.

He's just extra frustrated about HoX. We ran and at level Shroud last night, had an AMAZING save in p4 to complete, and then sat and waited for a Healer for HoX for about 20 minutes or more -not sure how long- and never got one.
Then to top it all off, I'm assuming he joined a less than stellar HoX that failed today.
    I'd be upset too.

    To Eric:
Got that HoX run in last night. Timer ran out on the first two puppies, dropped the 4th stone and killed the third pup to get some breathing room. Original third pup times out, so there's only one charmed. Get another stone and sure as hell, the moment we use it the beholders show up. No pups charmed now, and no stones either, and the beholders are out.
But we still got a completion. Not ALL pugs are horrible.

    edit:
Granted, we had just wiped when that completion came in.... last man standing died just moments before it happened... but still.
After that save in p4, and then another one in HoX, I called it a night.

I think the worst blow to his ego was when beergirl typed "I <3 Gornn" in party chat.

I won the internet that day my friends. And I heard a muscleman weep.

Some people would actually pay extra for that type of thing!

At least its purely physical though, some wives would deal psychological damage that would be irreversible.

Led a pug HoX last night with the LFM description: "Hound - the Disavowed Way". Got lots of tells asking what it meant.

In any case, we had a flawless run. I've been doing the hound for a long time. (Wait that sounds bad. Kinda like screwing the pooch...) I agree with everything he said. Even still, the number of newer players ignoring your advice or coming in with voodoo ideas about charming and buffing the dogs has been growing. Good to dispel those myths.

    Another thing:

How is it that more people get lost, die, and are generally unable to make it through the subterrean to Hound than VoD?

WIth VoD you have to hit the 5 buttons, not fall down into a pit of swarming devils, climb the tower (Crawling with devils) and hit the switch. With Hound, you basically just run with the group and have to find a few runes. Sure you encounter some bad guys along the way, but nothing in large numbers. The beholders are more annoying than anything else.

But in 75% of Hound pugs SOMEONE gets lost along the way and dies. Even if the way is clear. Last night we had more challenges getting to the quest than actually running it.

That's funny the Disavowed way. I hit the floor. You had to get some brutal remarks with my rep.

To be honest I can't take credit for it I just did it the way I was taught by listening to the folks who had already perfected it. We were always finishinf the quest and usually in 4 minutes. Why would I want to change a thing. Four minutes to complete a raid with no deaths. Don't they say something about if it's not broke don't fix it.

And that's another thing I have a bug up my you-know-what about.

What the heck is up with the 5 and 6 minute completions on Normal??

Seriously, a really fast run is 3 minutes and a good run is 4. A SLOW run to me is 5 minutes.

The reason it takes so long these days is too much time is spent buffing right after zoning in. People don't need NEARLY as many buffs as they're getting. A good Inspire Courage from the Bard and maybe a GH for the Tank and the Healers followed by an Extended 4 minute Haste is all that's really needed before the tank heads off to the center. Seriously.

Yes, Eric's beatdowns at the hands of the "Vicious She-Gnoll" that is Beergirl are the tales of legend
I've met and chatted with both Dave Arneson and Gary Gygax.
