Default Rogue Hirelings ~ What a joke No PHAT LOOTS FOR YOU!

Last night I decided to buy a lvl14 rogue hireling. He can open locked doors, he can find traps, and disable them. He even does ok melee damage. But he refuses to have anything to do with a locked chest. At first I was like this is BS ... then I got to thinking about it and realized hireling rogues are bad business for Turbine.

Before rogues came out you could DDO store your way through any quest in the game. If you ran in to a locked door or chest you could spend 90 turbine points on a bell and open that sucker. If you ran into a trap you could zerg through it, then buy a res cake for 150 points and continue on your way. If you have played that way in the past you can buy an armor kit for 150-250 points and at least your broken/low durability armor looks cool from dying so many times.

Now you can buy a rogue hireling for 40 points ( only way to get one is buy it with TP, Imagine that!) and if you want to unlock a chest you still gotta spend 90 points on a bell.

Turbine knows what they are doing, and they aren't going to give up the profits from selling bells in the DDO store. If you even think for a minute that this Rogue Hireling strike against opening a locked chest wasn't put in the game intentionally you are sadly mistaken. I'm willing to bet it will be months before this is even addressed by a dev.

Just warning anyone who buys a rogue hireling. He wont be helping you get your PHAT LOOTS.

at least he made it possible to tear up the quest Seattle style and get some good XP!!
