Lot's of certain groups promoting each other here, many of the best players have been overlooked.
My short list...
Leader: Samulas
Generous: Mahmood (also best healer)
Patient: Gemstone/Stryde/Phidius
Relaxed: Mase/Papoose (a close second for best leader)
Demanding: Runawayou (demanding in a good way, this guy is solid)
Player-who-doesn't-own-a-mic: Keensky
Soloer: Panzy
Other notable mentions: Butter, Omglazers, Intervention, Soloartiste, Atmadarkwolf, several Chinese players, plus a lot of others I missed.
Apparently my list was neg rep worthy. Why don't you man up and say why.
I'm very glad to be a mediocre player. That way, no one has high expectations of me. When I screw up "Oh well he's not that great anyway." and thus I'm not blacklisted. If I save a party "WOW! Even though he's not that good he really saved out bacon!" and maybe I get to run with the big kids someday.
-=Quantum Entropy - Sarlona Server=-
Thelmallen [monk paladin] - Bladetuner [warchanter] - Stratonike [exploiter] - Bladeturner [cleric] - Sulien [wizard] - Bladeoffreya [FvS monk]
Bard / ranger: Ratlin / Rathlin.
Rest of classes, runner-ups and special nominations: Englorious Basteurds (Mahmood, Velletri, and Quis all play there, along with some other seriously gifted folks), the usual suspects Rolpho runs with both at US and Asia timeframes (you know who you are), and a very special nomination to Yagami.
Yagami's the reason I stayed in Sarlona. (So now you know who's to blame.) The reason I don't nominate him as best arcane is that I haven't seen him for a whole year, so in the event he comes back he might need to tweak (or TR) his sorc for epics. That said, I've seen him pull off amazing stuff with his 28-pointer, f2p, capped at 16 human sorc; stuff other recognized players from Sarlona have posted in the achievement threads but with a 4 levels higher, double TR'ed warforged arcane.
The case for Ratlin/Rathlin is pretty straightforward. Ratlin sports the best sets of gear, be it raid, epic or gs (rathlin had already hit 200 shroud completions by the end of 2009), has a thorough knowledge of the game, plus he's a mature player with a very high tolerance to noobishness (otherwise I wouldn't know about him to begin with). I've learnt to run the toughest epics in his groups -I'm talking stuff like chronoscope and chains of flame- and things tend to go silky smooth -props to the rest of the squad too, of course (that includes more often than not Velletri and other folks from EB, hence my vote).
Isn't Malissia considered a fighter even if she is bow speced?
Exiile --- Exalt --- Exception
There used to be levelling sigils F2P users needed to purchase at levels 4 (very common drop), 8 (people used to farm stromvauld's mine for these, way rarer drop), 12, and 16. Yagami wanted to start a guild named "Capped at 12" for former Chinese players (he is guoren despite having picked a japanese name) that made the jump to US servers. I still think it's a nice guild name.
Edited out my original comment, but since I posted anyways, here's my thoughts on the topic. After a certain point, it's really hard to point to a character and say that they're really an exceptional player. The default expectation is that people are going to perform well, unless possibly they announce ahead of time that they're new, and it's hard to really impress me all that much any more because I expect a lot out of people. There are a few that come to mind outside of QE, but those people probably know who they are already.
One of the big signs to look for are the people that don't brag about their stats, or being able to do X, Y or Z - they just do the difficult things, make it look easy, and don't expect praise for having done so. Oh, and they do it without exploiting, but really that should just go without saying. However, this being Sarlona and all...
